I am 16 weeks pregnant and struggling. My recent labs show Hemoglobin 9.2 and Ferritin 22. Because of this, I am constantly exhausted and having "blackout sessions" (syncopal episodes) where I feel like I'm going to faint.

On top of the anemia, I have severe motion sickness (meds aren't working), back pain, and major GI issues (constipation/hemorrhoids/bloating).

My manager is amazing and wants to let me work a hybrid WFH schedule, but he needs a doctor's note for HR to formalize it. My OBGYN refused, saying these symptoms are "just part of pregnancy."

I agree they are common, but at 9.2 Hgb, I don't feel safe commuting or being in the office alone if I faint. I’m worried about falling and hurting the baby.

Has anyone had an OBGYN refuse a note for accommodations? How did you get them to take the fainting/anemia seriously? (I am in Seattle /Redmond Obgyn Redmond)
