We just brought Wero payments to N26 customers in 🇩🇪 and 🇫🇷 🚀

Hey everyone! The Payments team here at N26 just dropped a big quality-of-life update.

We’ve officially integrated Wero so that you can make instant cross-bank European payments straight from your N26 app.

✅ Send and receive money in seconds using just a phone number, email address, or QR code.

✅ Pay friends and family using technology backed by the European Payments Initiative (EPI).

✅ Skip the whole copy-and-paste IBAN step and stay in your N26 app the whole time.

We’re super excited to bring this to our users in Germany and France.

Give it a spin in the app, and drop any thoughts or questions below!

N26 is evolving — and this is just the start.

If you've opened your N26 app recently you might have noticed things look a bit different.

We just pushed a UI update and wanted to share it here, too. The goal was pretty simple: make the app feel less cluttered and give you more control over how you manage your money. Cleaner layout, more flexibility in how things are organized.

This is the first of a few changes we're planning, and we’d love to know what you all think — anything you'd want us to add or improve while we're at it?

🎨 It's finally here: switch up your N26 virtual card design anytime

A few weeks ago, we let it slip that a big change was coming to your virtual cards.

So now that it’s official, here's the deal: you can swap your N26 virtual card design whenever you feel like it, directly in the app. No new card number, no changing how you pay: just a fresh look, instantly updated in your digital wallet.

How to do it:

  • Open the N26 app → Cards
  • Tap the virtual card you want to change
  • Hit the brush icon next to "Card design"
  • Pick your new look → Confirm

To celebrate this feature, we’ve released 8 new styles to fit your vibe, with more on the way in the future. And as far as we know, no other bank lets you do this. Just saying 👀

What's the one design you'd add to the line-up if it were up to you?

Linking cards to specific spending categories — is anyone actually doing this?

One thing we kept hearing from you all is you’d set up Spaces for different savings goals, but day-to-day spending still came out of one main balance. Groceries and subscriptions and all your usual expenses were lumped together, and tracking what went where was a pain.

So we made it possible to create a virtual or physical card tied to a specific Space. You assign it to a category — groceries, subscriptions, online shopping — and it only pulls from that pot.

It's a simple way to keep spending separated without spreadsheets or budgeting apps, but we're curious how it actually plays out:

  • How often do you top up your Spaces: weekly, monthly, or just when they run dry?
  • Has a card ever declined at a bad moment because a Space ran out? How did that feel, useful guardrail or just annoying?

PSA: You can split bills directly in the N26 app (to save you from awkward summer trip math)

Hi everyone,

Summer usually means more dinners out, more trips away, and probably: more shared expenses. And sooner or later, someone has to ask: "So, how are we splitting this?"

We've noticed a lot of users missing out on the Split the Bill feature for these exact moments, so here’s the TLDR on how to use the feature:

Tap any transaction > Tap “Split the Bill” > Add friends > Split evenly or customize.

No awkward follow-up texts needed, the app sends the requests and handles the incoming funds.

We're curious though: how are you all currently handling splitting things up with friends? Especially for bigger group holidays where there’s more costs.

✨ New ✨ N26 Go Card, picked by our community! What do you think?

The hardest part of saving isn't actually saving. It's not touching it. ✨ Feature highlight on Spaces ✨

We’ve been thinking a lot about why saving can feel so hard. For some people, the real challenge isn’t putting money aside — it’s resisting the temptation to take it back out again.

When your savings are always just one tap away, they don’t really seem like savings. They’re more like an extra balance you can dip into whenever you’re a bit short or feeling impulsive.

So we added a setting to Spaces that makes your savings a little harder to touch — on purpose. You can still add money easily, but there’s an extra boundary when you want to take it out.

That way, the Space stops feeling like something you can raid “just this once”… and starts behaving more like actual savings.

What other tricks do you use to stick to their savings goals?

  • Manual transfers only?
  • Separate bank accounts for different funds?
  • Hiding your banking app somewhere on a second screen?

We’d love to hear what’s worked for you all in real life.
