Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve received my approval from Emirates! My Date of Joining (DOJ) is set for October.

However, I am planning to get married in August. I have a few questions regarding the onboarding process:

1. Does getting married during the pre-joining phase negatively impact my employment or visa status?
2. Given the timeline, would you recommend renewing my passport with a new surname before flying, or is it safer to join with my current passport and update my status after moving to Dubai?
3. For those who have been in a similar situation, what is the most professional way to handle the '3-week notice' rule for document changes?

I want to ensure a smooth transition without risking my training date. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
