Will I be rejected again?

I applied for Cabin Crew last November and my application was rejected in January.

I’m considering applying again but wondering if anyone can give any insight as to if it may be a waste of time.

For context I’m a British National living in Dubai, I meet the height requirement, slim build within my BMI range and I have an extensive background in Hospitality, working in Restaurant & Hotel Management (VIP, 5*, Luxury Customer Service etc) so my experience isn’t the problem.

I do believe my age may have been a factor for the initial rejection as I’m 32 (I was 31 when I first applied). My only benefit is that I look very young for my age.

Is it likely my application will be rejected again based on my age or could it have been other factors?

Benefits for emirates pilots

How do the housing allowances work? Also, is the platinum card they mention in their website actually any good?

On a sidenote, I've heard that QoL isn't very good at that airline, but if anybody has other opinions I would love to hear them. As a Canadian, I have a hard time believing it can be worse than air Canada/WestJet

AI Engineer looking for the right role in Dubai (not just any role)

I have 4+ years of experience building AI systems : chatbots, AI agents, RAG pipelines, and full-stack apps using Python and Next js.

I’ve also fixed and merged two bugs into Qdrant, an open-source vector database used by AI teams worldwide, plus contributed fixes to LlamaIndex, LangChain, Outlines, etc..

I’ve been job hunting for about 3 weeks. I got 2 interviews so far and turned both down not because they rejected me, but because the salaries were AED 5,000–6,000 for senior-level AI work. That felt too low for the scope, so I passed.

What I’m looking for:

**•**	AI Engineer / GenAI Engineer roles
**•**	Dubai preferred, open to remote
**•**	AED 18,000–28,000 (flexible depending on the role)

If you’re hiring, know someone who is, or just want to share what you’re seeing in the market — feel free to comment or DM me. Happy to share my portfolio and GitHub with anyone interested.

is it true that no accommodations are offered for CSR?

I was speaking to someone from CSR and I was told that the pay is non-negotiable, and that this role is not eligible for accommodations... Is that true?

BMI when onboarding

Hello!
I received my GC a few weeks ago and my onboarding is later this fall. My weight and BMI is low, but I am healthy, just naturally thin with muscles. I’m wondering if they weigh you when you arrive and if they physically check your weight during training/arrival? I weigh around 45 kilos as a 168 cm tall person. BMI might come out as underweight but like I said I’m perfectly healthy, and have just always been naturally skinny. Do I need to gain more weight before onboarding? Anyone that’s had experience with this before?

Late Rejection or what?

I came from HK Haesl (I’m malaysian) for a face-to-face interview in Singapore, and it has now been four months. Some of the people I met during the interview have already received their offers. About three weeks after my interview, I was also asked to submit additional documents, which they were asked to provide as well. However, they received their offers after about two months, while I still haven’t received mine.
I’ve tried contacting and emailing the interview scheduler, but I haven’t received a response. What should I do? Could this be a late rejection, or did they simply forget to send me a rejection? And if they were going to reject me, why would they ask me to submit additional documents?

Confession of an Ex Cabin crew

Look, I’m not saying this to demotivate anyone. If you didn’t get selected and you feel like your life is over, I promise it’s not. I worked at crew from 2021 to 2024 (and resigned—I’ll get to why later), and I want to give you total transparency.
Here is what it’s actually like:

1. It’s a beauty pageant.
I’m sorry, but Emirates is all about looks. The selection process is literally a beauty pageant. A lot of new applicants misunderstand the group 1 stage and think it's all about confidence and speaking skills, but the first stage is literally just checking if you look good in real life. That’s why so many confident people get cut even when they totally outperformed others.
2. There is a bit of white supremacy.
They talk a lot about diversity and inclusion, but people of colour are never their first choice. I'm not saying you won't get recruited, but you definitely have to work harder and have way more credentials. Their brand posters and promos always feature white models, and they want to maintain that specific image.
3. The environment is extremely toxic.
This depends on the person, but a typical workday for me felt like walking on broken glass. Supervisors watch you with laser eyes and nitpick everything—you didn't smile enough, your lipstick is a bit smudged, whatever. You literally lose control over your own appearance. Even making slight alterations to your hair can get you written up. I couldn't have bangs, wear slightly dramatic lashes, or thread my eyebrows to the length I wanted because of the uniform code. You have no personal life. Every single decision you make boils down to: Will I get fired if I do this?
4. You don’t travel as much as you think.
This sounds shocking because the whole job is supposed to be about travel. But 24 to 48 hours is way too short to actually explore a city. And let's be honest—flights are usually 4 to 12 hours long. Traveling that long, even as a passenger, is exhausting. Working it? Most crew just crash after flights or stay locked in their hotel rooms. The absolute most exploring anyone does is maybe 2 to 3 hours. It's like seeing 1 percent of the city. 48 hours feels like hitting the jackpot, but you don't always get your dream destinations, and some flights are just turnarounds where you see absolute zero. When I went back to some of these countries on my own money later, I realized I hadn't even seen 0.5 percent of them while working because we had zero time or energy.
5. Mental health does not matter.
You can literally get fired for seeking medication. It's a high-stress job with totally unreliable hours, zero sleep, nagging supervisors, and demanding customers. It destroys your mental health. But if they find out you're taking any meds for it? It's genuinely over. And I don't even mean heavy stuff like psychotic disorders I mean things like anxiety, depression, or stress. It makes zero sense given how insane the workload is, so most crew just hide their struggles and try to cope without help out of pure fear.

Terminated by Emirates After an Emergency Leave Extension — Is There Any Way to Lift the Ban?

I am writing this on behalf of a friend.

My friend requested 14 days of unpaid emergency leave, but only 4 days were approved. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond his control, he was unable to return within the approved period. The circumstances can be properly documented and evidenced.

Before the approved leave expired, he attempted to contact the relevant team in advance to request an extension and provided justification for the request. However, he received no response. It is possible that his email was overlooked or that the request was handled by another team that did not have the necessary context regarding his situation. Regardless, there was no response to his initial request.

As a result, he was terminated immediately and received a ban, apparently under Emirates' strict no-show policy.

He has a clean employment record and has always taken his job and responsibilities very seriously. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose the specific circumstances publicly, but they can be explained and supported with evidence if the appropriate team is willing to review the case.

He genuinely believes the situation could be resolved if he is given the opportunity to explain what happened and the relevant team reviews the evidence. His only request at this point is to have the ban reconsidered and, if possible, lifted.

He would never have taken the risk of exceeding his approved leave if he had known he would be unable to return or that his extension request would go unanswered.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Emirates, and is there a formal process to appeal or request a review of an employment ban?

Rejected at group discussion

This was my first attempt. I did everything by the book, contributed with a few inputs here and there, listened a lot, and agreed with everything. I got eliminated to a girl that said nothing at all even when i tried to include her, a guy that dominated the discussion, and another guy that interrupted me three times.

Idk, maybe I’m bitter, and definetly I’m bummed asf. I think they eliminated me because of my appearance. I’m pretty, but I wear glasses. The other eliminated girl was fat. My theory is that they don’t do it on the first round so you dont figure it out. They let you go on the group discussion and convince you to think its your fault, that you said something wrong… but i mean, on the other group a tall blonde girl interrupted her colleague and said it was her turn! AND SHE PASSED!!! So unfair.

Application under review (for 7 days already)

Hello, could you please help me? About a year ago, I applied for a cabin crew position at Emirates, but I had to decline the opportunity because I was dealing with a throat illness and was unable to attend at the time.

After that, they stopped contacting me. I applied again recently and received an email saying that my application is currently under review.

Does this mean that I have been permanently rejected, or is my application still being considered?

Now it is 7 days since I applied for job (cabin crew job).

Thank you for all information 🩷

Got the offer but is it worth to take it?

Hello everyone. I finally received my DOJ yesterday, and I was told that my first day will be on Aug 28th. However, I still have 7 months for my current rental lease. And I won’t have enough time to sublet my lease to other people and pack and resign. There are way more things I need to do before I am able to relocate to Dubai. I postponed my DOJ once before. Now I don’t know what I should do. Should I not take the offer then cuz I won’t have enough time to make myself to leave on Aug 28th or even earlier. Any advices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
