Regarding Unprofessional Conduct and Billing Issues | Ather Indore
Bought a new Ather Rizta from an authorised dealership, and honestly, the entire experience before delivery itself has been extremely frustrating.
I am posting this publicly because the issues are serious, and other customers should also be aware.
Major Concerns Faced
1. No Proper Payment Receipt
After submitting the cheque/payment, the dealership did not provide any official payment receipt despite repeated requests. They only shared a photocopy of the quotation form.
This is unacceptable for any vehicle purchase.
2. Last-Minute Showroom Relocation Confusion
Even after informing them in advance about the delivery schedule, they suddenly informed me at the last moment that the showroom was shifting to another location.
There was no proper coordination, planning, or customer communication.
3. No Update About Payment Clearance
The dealership never informed me whether my cheque/payment was approved or processed.
I had to personally call multiple times just to get a basic payment status update.
4. Misleading Information About ECW Coverage
Before payment, dealership staff clearly stated that rat-bite damage was covered under the ECW package.
After the payment was submitted, they suddenly changed their statement and said rat-bite damage is NOT covered under ECW.
This feels highly misleading because the information changed only after the payment was collected.
5. Insurance Documents Still Not Shared
Even after repeated follow-ups and calls, the insurance receipt/documents have still not been properly shared.
Every time, the response is:
“Bas 2 minute…”
But nothing gets sent afterward.
Insurance papers are legal documents. Delaying them like this is extremely unprofessional.
6. Free Helmet & Foot Mat Not Provided
The dealership promised a free helmet and foot mat during purchase.
Now they are saying both items are “out of stock.”
If these items are officially promised with new vehicle purchases, then proper inventory management should already exist.
Customers should not suffer because of dealership stock issues.
Also, if traffic police stop me for not wearing a helmet due to the dealership not providing the promised FOC helmet, then who will be responsible for the penalty amount, Ather or the dealer?
7. Ather Connect / Pro Pack Services Still Inactive
The connected services and app features are still inactive.
Important features like:
- Navigation
- Connected app services
- Pro Pack benefitsThey
are not working properly even after payment.
No proper activation timeline or resolution has been provided.
Biggest Concern
All these issues happened BEFORE even taking proper delivery of the EV.
That raises serious concerns regarding:
- Dealership transparency
- Customer handling
- Billing practices
- Communication standards
- False commitments before payment
Customers spend lakhs on EVs expecting a smooth experience, not constant follow-ups for basic things.
I am not looking for generic apologies or copy-paste responses.
I simply want:
- Proper clarification
- Transparent communication
- Activation of purchased services
- Pending items delivered
- Accountability from both the dealership and the company
Has anyone else faced similar issues with Ather dealerships?
Would like to know how your experience was and how these problems were resolved.
