Bumper to bumper insurance 10,000 for 4 years, is it reasonable?
My ather 450s is 1 year old, and its IDV is 132000.
Icici is quoting 10k for 4 years bumper to bumper insurance. Is it expensive or reasonable?

I chose Ather because I believed in the brand, its technology, and the customer experience it promised. Unfortunately, my buying journey has been the exact opposite.
Here's what happened: • The vehicle initially allotted to me was reportedly delivered to another customer. • I was promised the engine and chassis numbers of another vehicle, but they were never shared. • I was informed that my vehicle was in transit and would be delivered between 6–10 July 2026. • When I requested a confirmed delivery date, I was told that my vehicle is actually not in transit, and I would have to wait another 2–3 days for an update.
What disappoints me most is not the delay—it's the repeated contradictory information and false commitments.
Buying a vehicle is built on trust. Unfortunately, that trust has been broken before the vehicle has even been delivered.
I still hope Ather's senior management will investigate this matter and restore my confidence in the brand. Otherwise, Ather has not just delayed a delivery—it has lost what could have been a lifetime customer relationship.
Hi all, recently booked Rizta Z 3.7 model. They said I have to wait for 40-45 days to get delivery of the vehicle as there is huge demand. So eagerly waiting for it.. Now I am following discussions. Can I get some tips and suggestions for having a smooth ride.
So I have been noticing for the past month or so that whenever I hit the rear breaks there’s this sort of a noise. The best way to describe it is like as tho there is a stone stuck in between. But the thing is it only shows up at higher speeds frequently or at low speeds after riding around a few kms. The thing is the scooter has ran around 800kms only and we got it during the month of April. It is an ather 450X 3.7
I have an 803 credit score, I would like to get a new 450X 3.7Kwh in the coming months mostly during Onam.
I already work in the automotive industry but I deal with 4 wheelers.
My personal banking is with SBI and Kerala Bank.
Can you suggest me genuine alternatives where I can finance my two wheeler with 15-20K down at low interest rates.
I am currently quite confused, have got an offer from Indus Ind Bank but interest rates are at 11-12% for me and with 20K down and 7K/Month for 3 years.
Kindly help me navigate this situation.
Assuming the road is mix of straight, up-hill and down-hill. I turn regen where there is continuous downhill. But in straight road or mixed type I think there isn't much advantage. May be if I just glide with regen off, I will gain more efficiency.
Let me know your experience.
Hi
Just a small query does the autohold feature of Rizta only work when it is an uphill (i.e.,ascending a bridge )
Hi my rear name plate got damaged and i want to get a new one. I tried bookmyhsrp website but it told me that this vendor is not supported and told to check siam.in for finding the right hsrp website for my Ather. But in that website whenever i click on ather it opens the same page again.
Are you aware of any website where i can place order for new rear plate and get it delivered at my address?
Registration city : Delhi
Vehicle : 450x gen 3
First pic is of a pleasure casually standing on slope unmoved
Second pic is of lord ather initially parked a slope lower than this one, casually rolled back from original position and luckily got stopped by that metal rod. Either it would have turned 90 degree ready for me to hop on and leave(ather should market this feature “Hop and leave” ) else it would have casually toppled waiting for me to pick up.
Absolutely trash balancing.
Hey, in Ather 450x, we have boot light, which if not closed properly keeps running.
Is there anything that can alert the user so that to indicate that the boot is open?
I live in a village, so commuting to the city for work is unavoidable. My daily travel is around 50–60 km (25–30 km one way), which is why I bought an Ather Rizta S. My goal wasn't fancy features—I just wanted to save on petrol for my daily commute.
After an OTA update, my scooter started randomly limiting itself to 30 km/h after around 25 km of riding. It spent several days at the service center before the issue was resolved.
The scooter is working fine now, but my confidence isn't.
Now every time I hear about a new OTA update, I wonder if another software issue could leave me stranded again. Since this is my primary commuting vehicle, that uncertainty worries me more than the cost of electricity or petrol.
I'm now considering two options:
Keep the Rizta and hope it remains reliable.
Sell it, accept some financial loss, buy a lower-cost EV for daily commuting, and keep a petrol bike as a reliable backup.
For people who commute long distances on an Ather every day:
- Have software updates ever made you lose confidence in the scooter?
- Have you faced recurring OTA-related issues?
- If you were commuting 50–60 km every day with no easy public transport, what would you do?
I'm not here to hate on Ather. I'm genuinely looking for advice from experienced owners before making an expensive decision.
Hey guys, wanted to share the horrible experience I am facing with Ather Energy right now. Exactly 20 days ago, I booked the Ather 450s (2.9kW) in Space Blue. The dealership team confidently gave me an expected delivery date around 20th July 2026. I was super excited to get my hands on it, but today I got a massive reality check. The showroom casually called and informed me that my delivery has been pushed back by 45 to 60 days! No proper justification, just a blanket delay statement. But here is the kicker: Since the day I booked the scooter, I have received exactly ZERO official emails or text messages from Ather. No confirmation of booking, no invoice tracker, nothing. If the showroom hadn't called to give me the bad news, I would be sitting blankly thinking my scooter is arriving in two weeks. Ather talks big on Twitter and in their ads about being the ultimate premium EV brand in India, but their customer onboarding and supply chain transparency is a absolute joke. They block your money, give fake timelines, and then go completely radio silent. My details are Sagar Patel (+91 7692818233) if any Ather representative lurks here and wants to fix this mess. Has anyone else faced this sudden 2-month delay for the 450s recently? Should I just cancel and go for an alternative, or fight for the refund? Very frustrated.

Why you shouldn’t buy the Ather 450 in 2026: A 3.5-year owner’s reality check.
Honestly, I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed.
Buying a new scooter was supposed to be an exciting experience. I completed 100% payment, and the showroom got the scooter registered in my name. Instead of taking delivery of my brand-new scooter, I've spent the last week repeatedly calling the dealership and customer care, chasing updates on a scooter that I haven't even taken home yet.
On my scheduled delivery day (28 June), the sales executive unboxed my assigned portable charger for the first time in front of me. When it was plugged into the scooter, it displayed "Setting Up" → "Not Connected" and refused to charge.
The showroom staff first told me it was because of "Optimised Charging." I immediately pointed out that Optimised Charging is available on the 450X, not the 450S.
Instead of fixing the issue before delivery, I was asked to take the scooter home anyway. I was told that once I rode it and the battery percentage dropped, it would start charging automatically. I simply wasn't comfortable accepting a brand-new scooter with a charging issue, so I refused delivery.
After that, things only got worse.
Over the next few days, I kept calling the dealership. More than once, I was told that the scooter was ready for delivery, only to later receive another call saying the delivery had been postponed because the scooter had been moved to the service centre.
Then I was asked to accept delivery using a different charger and bring my brand-new scooter back to the showroom myself or service centre after a few days so they could fix it. I was just told it is an "internal problem". I refused because I don't believe a customer buying a brand-new vehicle should have to accept a temporary workaround and immediately schedule a service visit.
What disappointed me even more was that, during another conversation, I was told that my scooter had already been charged to 100% using my assigned charger before delivery. That didn't make sense because the charger was still factory sealed and was opened for the first time in front of me on delivery day.
I raised a support ticket with Ather Customer Care and sent a detailed email to Ather Corporate explaining everything. I was told I would receive a callback within 24–48 hours.
It's now 4 July, and I still haven't received a single call or email from anyone. The Ather app still shows an active service job card and ticket.
What hurts is that my first experience as an Ather customer has been following up on a scooter that's already in the service centre before I've even taken delivery. I haven't ridden it home once. I haven't signed the delivery papers. Yet I've already spent days chasing updates and dealing with uncertainty instead of enjoying the excitement of buying a new vehicle.
I'd really appreciate hearing from existing Ather owners:
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Would you still accept delivery after this?
Would you ask for any additional checks before signing the delivery documents?
Am I wrong for refusing delivery until everything works exactly as it should?
Should I consider installing crash guard on my ather apex, it is just a week old.
Considering it coz I am living in congested area. Too much of traffic rickshaws, tempos and bikes.
Today I got a notification on my mobile that there is an update for your rizta s now in the morning it didn't shows what's the update what new features were added if any, how can I know,
Does anyones rizta also recieved the update can you tell me what's the new update was about?
I'm planning to buy a used 2024 Ather 450X (3.7 kWh) with around 10,000 km on the odometer.
What would be a fair price to buy it for?
I've generally heard that EVs have poor resale value
Ather Whitefield took my booking for rizta s around 1st week of May , timeline given for delivery was 15 to 20 days. Then came the shenanigans, when called the sales person, they never pick up even if they pick they said " we will only call you when we have the vehicle" . When i visited the showroom after 30 days i get a response that " vehicle delivery is delayed". After 45 days i get a call that they are no longer rizta s delivery, so they insist on booking rizta z model which they can deliver in 3 days , now that's fishy! I went to showroom spoke to their ma nager where he said they are not getting rizta s from April , yet they took the booking for it without giving this info in May, next he too insisted on booking rizta z , which he can deliver in 3 days even the color of my choice 🙄 , wild isn't it.
So i cancelled the booking, guess what ? i get a call after 2 days saying that they have a riztla s now available i can go and do a full payment, i straight away said i no longer Ather and cancelled my booking.
Another catch : i cannot swipe my credit card for the entire amount , they swipe only for 1.35L , because apparently they need to pay some credit card charges if we swipe for more amount , i have to pay the rest of the amount via Debitcard or UPI.
I was already pissed that they have bunled their pro pack with extended warranty and this customer experience was the final nail for rejection.
Went and happily booked River indie ( entire payment via credit card).
Edit : And the increase in prices too was frustrating and found the vehicle was not worth almost 2L after pro pack rizta z , 8 year warranty & accessories !!
booked another ather 450x stealth blue LR
my first ather was delivered on 8th may (even that was stealth blue)
new ather delivery is scheduled for next friday
price has increased and dealer informed that subsidy has been canceled and gave some offer of around 2.6k which totals to 1,97,500₹ (new is 1,99,500)
enquired for new graphic ather but they don't have any info on delivery dates but they're taking order for it
haven't got any accessories yet
got additional 2 year warranty on motor which was 3 years before is now for 5 years
will decide on battery warranty later to buy or not
