Recently I was catching up with friends from school and given how most of us are in NS now the topic of guard duty came up. I was surprised to find out how much "off compensation" varied from camp to camp/unit to unit. A common thing was a point system of sorts, but some of them could convert these points to offs(eg 10pts=1 off) while others couldn't, or some even got 1 to 1 offs for doing duty(all not STs). Different camps also had different point systems(eg some camps weekday 12hrs=1pt, weekend 24hrs=2pts, weekday 12hrs=0.5pt, weekend 24hrs=3pts if i rmb correctly). Who gets to decide on the point system?

Curious to how does guard duties system's work for other units/camps?
