Illini Tower -- one of the worst dorms ever

Basically before the semester started, I was able to select my roommates. I chose mine based on our preferences because I tried to pick people with similar lifestyles and cultural backgrounds.

Then IT randomly changed two of my roommates and placed me with random girls who honestly drove me crazy to the point where I felt traumatized. For example, they never washed the dishes. If the kitchen sink was full, they would hide the dirty dishes in the fridge or under the sink, which is actually disgusting. When I told them to wash the dishes, they would just push the responsibility onto each other. They also never cleaned the apartment, so I was the only one taking out the trash and cleaning up hair. They only took out the trash once, and that was when their parents came over. (Lowkey my life would have been the worst if the other roommate was also changed) Honestly, I think if they had not rearranged the roommates I originally selected, my experience would have been so much better.

The food was also really gross. It was frozen food, and they served the same food every week. The elevators were always slow and broke down so frequently that it literally tested my patience. Now they are not even trying to refund us properly. The heater in my room also was not working. I called about it, they did nothing abt the issue, but because of that, I ended up catching a cold and the flu four times in total. There were also cockroaches in the gym and piano room.

The only good thing is that they have free printers :)

CBTF reschedule conflict with another final, what should I do?

I’m really confused about what to do with the current final exam scheduling situation.

I’m leaving on Tuesday afternoon and my flight is in the evening. I tried to reschedule my CBTF exam for Sunday or Monday, but all the slots are still full so far. The only slot I could get is Tuesday morning. The problem is that the Tuesday morning CBTF slot now conflicts with another paper final exam.

Now I can’t just rebook my flight or leave later because I have an exam in another country that I’ve been planning for a long time. I really need to fly out on Tuesday as scheduled, which makes this whole rescheduling situation super stressful.

What should I do? Which professor should I contact? I’m not sure what the next step is, and I’m getting really stressed because my plans are already fixed...

Hi, I wanted to ask a few questions regarding the ICT process into Grainger.

I have heard that some students have been admitted with GPAs around 3.6-3.7, while others with GPAs around 3.9 were not admitted, so I was wondering how applications are evaluated beyond GPA. Are factors such as course rigor, grade trends, extenuating circumstances, extracurricular involvement, internships, research, and projects considered in the review process?

At the moment, my GPA is not as high (It is 3.7ish) as I hoped due to extenuating circumstances, for which I have official documentation. However, I have been actively involved in research, internships, and technical projects, and I may end this semester around a 3.8 GPA if my withdrawal request is approved.

I would really appreciate any clarification or guidance on how Grainger evaluates ICT applicants, especially when there are documented circumstances and strong experiences outside of coursework. Thanks :)
