im 16 years old and my mom refuses to let me hang out with my friend without a parent nearby. i cant walk around a neighborhood she doesnt know, i cant walk around a park or mall without her trailing behind me and my friend. i cant go out with just a friend without an adult. she says its because its her rules and the world is a dangerous place than what it was when she was my age. mind u, i have my location on 2 different apps. her reasoning for not letting me go anywhere is bc of sex trafficking people could pick me and my friend up and throw our phones out the window. i tolerated it up until last week when i asked to go to a movie without an adult and she freaked out and said no. we were just going to go to a movie and then her mom would drop me off at home. also when my mom was younger, in the 2000s, she was partying, going out with her friends everywhere, so much more than what me and my friends wanna do. we dont drink, smoke weed, party or anything. we either hang at each others houses, go to the movies, the beach, or the park. when my mom said no, i got mad at her. am I overreacting?
