Alright boys Torino 22 review after a few weeks honest take
I know, I know it’s summer, why am I posting about this in summer? Listen, I bought it in winter and wore it enough seasons to give a raw, realistic take. So here we go.
Finally pulled the trigger on Torino 22 after sampling. Wanted to write something grounded because most reviews are either “10/10 masterpiece” or “$300 BR540 ripoff.” Reality is in between.
The smell: Opening is eucalyptus forward — not toothpaste, more like a spa steam room. Saffron is there but it’s not a bomb, more like saffron filtered through cold mint. After ~30 min the mate tea note takes over and that’s the part nobody talks about enough. Smells like an expensive herbal tea with a sweet edge. Drydown is woody musk with the tea still hanging around.
The BR540 thing: I get it. Same saffron DNA. But T22 is greener and cooler — BR540 is sweet amber jelly. Family resemblance, that’s it.
Performance: 7-8 hours on me, becomes a skin scent around hour 4. Projection is moderate early then hugs. I get more compliments when I move around than when people are close, which tracks with other reviews.
When to wear: Ignore the “athletic summer” marketing. Gets heavy in heat. Spring, fall, cool evenings, office.
Worth $275? If you already own BR540, Erba Pura, Naxos, or Golden Dallah, you don’t need this. If you want a sweet-spicy-saffron with a unique twist (the eucalyptus + mate combo is genuinely different), defensible pick.
The unboxing though. This is where Xerjoff earns it. Shipping box → navy branded box with gold X → white inner box → satin-lined cradle → bottle with sculpted metal cap and certificate medallion → X-monogram ribbon. I’ve opened Creeds, MFK, PdM — nothing comes close. Whether the juice is worth $275 is debatable. The experience of opening one for the first time kind of is.
