Moving on from UniFi: Is the QNAP QHora-322 the play for 2 Gig Synchronous?

Hello All,

I’m finally pulling the trigger on a gateway upgrade. I’ve been on a UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra for about 2.5 years. It was great for my 1 Gig service, but my ISP (Xfinity in Seattle) just moved me to a 2 Gbps Synchronous plan (2/2).

I was set to buy the UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber, but the checkout process really soured me. Between the new $16 "Memory Surcharge" and the $99/year CyberSecure subscription for premium threat signatures, I’m over the "Ubiquiti Tax." I’m a security nut about my data and I’m worried about where their fee structure is headed.

My Setup:

I need to keep two networks strictly isolated. My tenants run multiple servers (Minecraft, media, etc.) with about 25 open ports. I run isolated VLANs with zero cross-talk to keep my personal network safe.

The Question:

Does anyone have long-term experience with the QNAP QHora-322?

How is the VLAN management?

Is the 10G WAN handoff stable?

Most importantly: Does it feel like a "downgrade" in security compared to UniFi, or is the license-free IPS actually legit?

I’m looking to stay around the $300 mark for something future-proof (10G capable). If there's another "sleeper" unit I should be looking at, I’m all ears. Thanks!
