Don't trust the steam survey.... The future feels bright for us 😁!!!! ☀️ 🌞

Anybody that's concerned about the percentage of users going down with regards to the steam hardware survey remember these things:

That's chosen at random. Other things you need to take into account is if you were to combine Chrome OS with Linux because it is pretty much Linux it would sit at about 15 to 20% of the entire personal market. You'd also need to remove call centers, offices and internet cafes throughout the entire world. When those surveys are done each computer in those call centers and cafes are counted individually. Unless I'm wrong and somebody will tell me "well actually"

Please EGG ROLL!!! I I'm building a new pc and don't want to switch to CACHYOS

First things first, I'm a newer Linux user like beginning of this year may be December time frame.

Like many windows refugees we got sick of getting told about needing to upgrade the windows 11. Big reason I got sick of it is because I got sick of just looking at my computer screen and seeing an error message ".01hu96 alphaelephant.exe has failed" when all I'm doing is downloading things from the Microsoft store or steam. You could breathe wrong in Windows just breaks.

I'll be honest, I love this distro. I tried three: I try to Ubuntu I tried Linux mint and I landed on this one. The only thing that makes me not enjoy it is that discord server. I don't find a lot of the information online informs to be that helpful mainly because it's buried under people's opinions.

Good example:

One day I decided to bite the bullet and hop on discord which I hate. This is what happened 👇 👇 👇

Hello, I'm trying to find information about finding my steam library saves.

One person responds: have you checked the n14567 Jeffrey bail bondsman jif peanut butter file.........?

(Before I was able to finish reading that question)

How do you not know how to find your saves?

He's a noob, he shouldn't be on our platform

Does he not know what exe is

I like hot dogs too

Check out my desktop

Hey guys look at my new app that I found

Hey guys look at the new program that I wrote....

Meanwhile I'm having to sift through the 30 or 40 messages that order a tsunami that buried my question.

My response: I said some very derogatory words and mean things. I used the word that usually directed at a certain demographic of people in their lifestyle choices. It starts with the letter "F" GETTING SPAMMED ABOUT 50 TIMES ON THAT DISCORD SERVER BY ME!

I ended up just switching to using an llm like chat GPT or Gemini. I might even run one locally. Whenever I need information I just ask it what console command I need to do to run something and I just copy and paste it. I haven't had a single issue.

So one day for grins I decide to hop on the CachyOs discord server *cautiously*

I never got buried by a billion different insults. I had my question answered because they understand the millions of new users literally that are jumping on to linux. Yes cachy doesn't have the same level of performance that nobara has but to be able to get that level of support I'll be at a community or when I need information. I'm willing to lose that 5 to 10% fps and the high level of Nvidia GPU drivers.

Conclusion, what I would fix how about I add that instead of complaining. I would dump that discord server egg roll. It would make a website.

One side of the site would be a forum or a dedicated server the other side would be tech support or how to. And if that's on your website, you need to redesign it because I can't find anything on it.

I really wish I had more Gui's. I don't live in the terminal anymore because everything is set the way I want it but sometimes I really wish I had more toggle switches instead of having the type of command or copy and paste from an llm. If that means I got to go to zoran OS or Linux mint to play games I will. This is something where Windows beats Linux. If I want to change a setting that's deep in the computer I don't want to have to go into the terminal.

If I go on proton DB right now large majority of the user data I'm looking at one distro that's pretty dominant and it's not nobara.

I don't want to distro hop, believe it or not I think that's kind of annoying. I'm not 13 anymore and I'm not a car enthusiast. The only thing I might be enthusiast about is maybe my hardware. Once I have a program set and comfy where it is I don't really change it.

But that's about all duke it out in the comments call me an idiot if you want I really don't care
