Its crystal clear her plan was to create a platform from which she could support herself in style. We all know that she failed over and over and over. My take is the Once Upon A time Prince simply told her he was returning to England and gave her the ultimatum that was simply how it was going to be. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he'd been plotting this (and making arrangements) for some time.

This delightful 13 minute vid by Julie Montague ("The American Countess"), about Catherine, PoW, lists the many reasons why Catherine is so fascinating and illustrating everything so horribly wrong with Old Meg.

She describes the reasons people find Catherine so compelling, describing her as "elegant, but accessible", how she doesn't over-share, giving few interviews and retaining a sense of mystery. We find her "endlessly fascinating" as she never explains herself. We find her consistency compelling, as her calmness and absence of drama is "deeply reassuring" in a time of general stress, her composure and "visible emotional warmth" always drawing us to her.

She is everything Old Meg can never be.

What is he remembering? Does he want to call his dad tonight? Does he want to ask, "Where did it all go wrong, Dad??" Does he want to say, "I miss the way we were"?? But the only one he can turn to is his "Plus One", who keeps a tight lid on the echo chamber.

With KC3 arriving in Washington today and a marvelous high visibility state dinner to attend while he's here....a certain couple are, 'as ever' NFI'd. Under completely different circumstances the dimwit and his plus one would have been shoo-ins. Their NFI status for all to see is a complete burn. So why are they state-side this week???
