Does the 2023-2024 QX60 V6 have the same ticking time bomb as the 2019 Ford Explorer?

I have a 2019 Ford Explorer w/ the NA V6. It has an internal water pump behind the timing chain cover, driven by the timing chain. Failures can dump coolant into the crank case and cause catastrophic engine failure. I’m 50K miles past due for failure and replacement is roughly $5K at a dealership and around 10% less by an independent (only 1 out of 5 independents I called so far will even agree to do it).

It’s time to replace the Explorer and the 2023-2024 Infiniti QX60 (and Acura MDX) is a strong contender. I was disappointed to find both Nissan and Honda put the water pumps behind the timing covers of the V6’s like Ford did with the last gen Explorer.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Is this something I need to be concerned about with a QX60 (or MDX)?

It’s a well known sore subject in the Explorer community but so far I haven’t heard much about it with Infiniti /Acura.

Thanks.
