Shift Knob Replacement

Im looking to replace the Shift Knob in my 15’ Q50, but I’m looking for something very similar to this if not this exact one. I like the leather and the look of it, does anyone know where I can find some of these? Also it doesn’t really matter but does anyone know what the notch beside the P is on the shifter? Im just curious.

Should I buy this FX50S For 5K?

Found this 2012 FX50S on marketplace listed for 5k, it has over 150k miles haven’t checked the vin or got to see the car in person to check codes but wanted to hear from yall if this seems like a good deal at face value. There looks like some parts sticking out on the sides of the tires, and the front headlights are a different color (seems to me as proof of a past accident) the interior seems clean, please give me some advice 🙏

Which one you choosing ?

I love how the Q60 looks but I do not love the vr30 motor. Glad I stuck with the good ol g37.

Q60 - where's the catch?

Hey there! I’m slowly starting to look around for a new car. Right now I drive a Giulia Intensa, but since I don’t want to keep financing a car anymore, I’ve been thinking about buying something outright. My first thought was a Lexus - either the RC or the GS. I took the GS for a test drive and was very pleased. Besides, they’re known for their reliability, which is important to me. But recently, Infiniti has caught my eye. About six years ago, I wanted to buy a G35, but I ended up going with a BMW 630i (which I regret, I probably would’ve had fewer problems with the G35)...

Two models caught my eye - the Q50 Hybrid and the Q60 with the 3.0 V6 biturbo. The Q50 appeals to me with its practicality, while the Q60 stands out for its looks and the fact that it meets all my needs. I’ve been browsing reviews and reading articles... and everyone raves about them! Considering that they offer just as much as a Lexus, at a MUCH lower price (the Lexus market has gone through the roof with prices for cars 10 years old and older), the fact that the AWD system can overheat when driving hard, the batteries aren’t cheap, and you can’t take either of them to the track - I get that.

So the question is: what’s the catch that makes these supposedly so reliable, comfortable, fast, and beautiful cars so affordable? I’m definitely aware that there might be an issue with parts, since I live in Europe. And for any major repairs, I’ll most likely have to send the car somewhere further away within the country.

I’m expecting to pay around 20–25k euros for my own car.

The only things I’m missing in these cars (in terms of features) are ventilated seats and a HUD, and I’m not sure if they have adaptive cruise control).

17 QX70 dual cooler setup - Transmission and oil, supercharger prep

Hey sub!

Spent a couple years fabricating and running the 370 TT setup and posting on the 370z sub, i started putting some attention on my 2017 qx70. I have thoughts of putting a s.c. setup in, but wanted to address the transmission cooling issue and while the bumper is off, add an oil cooler.

There is not much excitement with the coolers, but this setup does cut out the factory transmission cooler and uses a thermostatic block for controlling when the 30 row is active. In addition, adds an inline magnetic inline filter for cheap insurance. I did fab up some brackets to hold 2x 30 row coolers.

The oil engine cooler is also a 30 row and usea a Mocal Thermostatic sandwich plate @180f.

I did make a couple of these kits as a couple buddies were interested. I have 2 kits available for "R&D" purposes to see if the brackets work for sedan set ups. PM me.

2011 Infiniti M37 140k miles U0164 Lost Communication with HVAC Control Module

I’m about to buy this m37 and I already knew the AC wasn’t working but there wasn’t a light on until 30 mins ago. I checked the light and this shows. Does this mean it definitely needs more than just Freon? How hard of fix is this? Would you still buy for $3k?

Considering a 2010 G37S 20th Anniversary Edition at $8,700 — PPI results inside, is this a good buy?

Hey everyone.. this is my first time considering a G37, currently deciding between this and a couple other options. Found a 2010 G37S Coupe 20th Anniversary Edition, private-party sale, 155,520 miles, asking $8,700 (came down from $9,500). Had a PPI and computer scan done (8/15/26) and wanted to get some more experienced eyes on the findings before I commit.
PPI Findings:
Passenger front strut leaking — recommend replacing both front struts as a pair
Brake fluid water content above recommended level (fluid flush needed); pad thickness couldn't be verified due to caliper coverage
Battery tested 82% healthy, but corrosion on positive terminal needs cleaning
Oil leak on VTC (variable timing control) cover
Oil leak believed to be from intake manifold or valve cover area
Oil leak on power steering rack
Tires: 7/32" tread depth all around (fine for now)
Moderate curb rash on all four wheels (cosmetic)
TPMS sensors flagging air-leakage codes on FL/RR/RL
Computer scan: Engine (ECM), transmission (TCM), ABS, SRS, and instrument cluster all came back OK. Only flagged codes were the TPMS air-leakage ones and two unrelated BCM/AV codes (CAN communication circuit, steering angle sensor calibration).
Road test: No issues noted — starting, idling, acceleration, transmission shift quality, steering, braking, and suspension performance all rated good.
What I'm most concerned about (not covered by the visual PPI):
The shop couldn't inspect internal engine components. Given this is a VQ37VHR from the early-build years, I'm aware of a few known failure points I haven't been able to confirm yet:
Oil gallery gasket failure (common on pre-2012/2013 builds)
Water pump (commonly needs replacement ~100k miles)
Cat converter clogging (some as early as 75k miles)
Cold-start timing chain rattle
I'm getting a separate quote request out to a shop for these specific items, but wanted to ask here in the meantime:
Does anything in the PPI stand out as more/less serious than I'm reading it?
Given the mileage (155k) and the leaks already found, is $8,700 still reasonable, or should this be pushing the price down further?
Anyone had experience with multiple oil leaks like this (VTC cover + intake/valve cover + power steering rack) — is this "typical old G37" or a sign of a car that's been neglected?
Would you walk away, or is this within normal range for a 15-year-old G37 at this mileage?
Appreciate any insight — trying to make a clear-eyed decision before I finalize anything.

Ayuda help ⁉️

¡Gracias!

Negotiated a base trim 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 from $15,750 to $13,500 clean Carfax but no Premium package. Good deal or pass?

2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 (base trim, RWD), 68,500 miles. No heated seats, no Bose, no auto-dimming mirror. But it does have a moonroof.

Carfax highlights:

  • No accidents or damage reported, ever
  • No structural damage, no airbag deployment, no odometer issues, clean title
  • 3 owners on paper, but really: dealer → 14-month owner → ~2-year owner → current owner who's had it for the last 8 years, all in NC
  • Full service history under the current owner through Infiniti — brake pads, 4-wheel alignment, regular maintenance inspections
  • CARFAX's own "History-Based Value" estimate: $15,420

Negotiation**:** Started at $15,750 got them down to $13,500.

Questions on the missing equipment:

  • Can I add an auto-dimming mirror to this car which never had one? Assuming it needs the right harness/connector for a car without nav and without pre-collision.
  • Is the base 6-speaker system vs the Bose setup that big of a difference in real world listening or is it overhyped?

Is $13,500 fair for this given the clean history & low mileage even without the Premium equipment? Anyone had valve body issues and how to much to fix?

I need to decide by 1pm tomorrow so any thoughts before then would genuinely help!!!

Bought a low-mileage Q50 Red Sport, started losing coolant almost immediately, now the engine is seized. What would you do at this point?

I could really use some outside opinions on what you guys would do in my situation because I've been dealing with this for months and I'm at the point where I need to decide whether to repair the car, sell it as-is, or cut my losses completely.

I bought a 2017 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD in November 2025 from a used car dealer for about $22,500 OTD. It only had around 56k miles. I also had a pre-purchase inspection done before buying it and nothing major was found.

Shortly after buying it, I took it to an Infiniti dealer and spent a decent amount getting maintenance caught up, including fluids, oil, filters, etc.

Not long after that, I noticed the heater would blow cold unless I gave the car some gas. The temperature gauge stayed normal and there were no warning lights.

Infiniti diagnosed a leaking radiator and replaced it for around $2,000. Unfortunately, the coolant loss continued.

I brought it back and eventually Infiniti did more diagnosis/borescope work and found small amounts of coolant/moisture in a cylinder. Their conclusion was internal coolant intrusion/head sealing issues and they recommended replacing the long block. They also had concerns about the turbos.

The crazy part is that throughout this, the car still drove normally for the most part. It never overheated, there was no milky oil, and I wasn't driving around with warning lights on.

I tried going through Infiniti for goodwill assistance because this is a Red Sport with only around 60k miles. Infiniti ultimately denied goodwill assistance. I also had an aftermarket Endurance service contract by this point, but they denied the engine claim after reviewing prior service records and doing an oil analysis. The oil analysis apparently showed potassium, sodium, water and significant coolant contamination.

Fast forward to now:

The car eventually became a no-start. The shop initially thought it might be the starter. Endurance actually authorized the starter replacement, but replacing it didn't fix the problem. The mechanic then found that the engine can only be rotated slightly by hand before locking up.

So now I have a ~60k-mile Q50 Red Sport with what appears to be a seized engine.

I've also filed complaints regarding the situation and have not heard anything meaningful back from the Attorney General yet.

At this point I'm trying to decide what makes the most financial sense.

My options seem to be:

  1. Sell the Q50 as-is. I've been trying Facebook Marketplace, but dealing with people who don't read the description, extremely low offers, and unserious buyers has been exhausting.

  2. Install a used VR30DDTT. I'm seeing used engines around $4k-$6k, but a lot have 60k-100k+ miles and then I'm worried I'm just buying another early VR30 with the same potential problems. Some also come with questionable used turbos.

  3. Buy a brand-new OEM Infiniti long block. I've found genuine new AWD VR30 long blocks around $9k. I have a shop willing to do the engine replacement for roughly $2k labor, so theoretically I could have a brand-new engine installed for somewhere around $12k-$14k after fluids, parts, shipping, etc. The problem is then deciding whether to trust/reuse the existing turbos or replace those too.

  4. Forget the Infiniti entirely and buy a cheap $4k-$5k Toyota/Honda cash car, drive it for a year or so, save money, and buy something nicer later.

I'm having a hard time justifying putting another $12k+ into a car I already paid $22.5k for, especially after everything that's happened. At the same time, selling a clean Red Sport with only around 60k chassis miles and a seized engine for pennies on the dollar feels awful.

If this were your car and your money, what would you do?

Would you:

- sell it broken and take the loss,

- put in a used engine,

- spend more for a brand-new OEM long block,

- or buy a cheap reliable car for now and move on?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have dealt with VR30 engine/coolant intrusion failures, engine replacements, or selling non-running Red Sports.

I'm not really looking for advice on how I should have handled things differently before buying it. I'm trying to figure out the smartest financial move from where I am today.

Opinion needed

Infinti q50 2.0L 2014-2016

Need opinion on this car, I absolutely love the look and within the budget. I just want opinions Good & Bad

While many people say you can get a corolla etc I’m still a teen and would prefer a car like this.

You can recommend cars asw not an issue tho.

Price I’ll buy at around 17-18k possibly a bit more but not more than 20k

I just want opinions as I have friends who’ve had this car for years with little issue but still want to know abt fuel / maintance / common issues / cost of repairs of said common issues / major issues & cost of it and also What to look out for when purchasing one and simple thing like oil changes etc & cost as some ppl said 400 dhs.

As for PPI u can recommend me places but I also have personal mechanics from my family connection.

Also note my goals are kind of decent fuel economy as I’m a student but I also prefer a car that looks nice examples are the q50 / Lexus is250 w the body kit etc

I’ve heard many people say g37 & the 3.7L v6 is better but living in uae heat & fuel prices gives fuel economy low to below low.

Thank you, Please help me out!

Is this a scam?

Was trying to buy a car from eBay motors and was hit with this, is it wrong to not just want to go through eBay secure checkout and not some super sketchy elaborate scheme. Should I report this to eBay or is this really how y'all sell cars on eBay.

20 years old thinking of buying an 2015 Infiniti Q40 for my first car off marketplace for 7k. Is it worth it?

I'm 20 years old, I really want a nice sports sedan or car for my first car, but I don't know if this this car is worth it or not, if it's reliable or how the management with it is. I like how it looks and it looks really cool. Could I get some advice on this?

The car itself has 95,000 miles and has a clean title. Wants 7k in cash.

Would yall recommend max load or bag riders suspension for g37x, it seems to be a less expensive option for bags that comes with warranty
