Q60 - where's the catch?

Hey there! I’m slowly starting to look around for a new car. Right now I drive a Giulia Intensa, but since I don’t want to keep financing a car anymore, I’ve been thinking about buying something outright. My first thought was a Lexus - either the RC or the GS. I took the GS for a test drive and was very pleased. Besides, they’re known for their reliability, which is important to me. But recently, Infiniti has caught my eye. About six years ago, I wanted to buy a G35, but I ended up going with a BMW 630i (which I regret, I probably would’ve had fewer problems with the G35)...

Two models caught my eye - the Q50 Hybrid and the Q60 with the 3.0 V6 biturbo. The Q50 appeals to me with its practicality, while the Q60 stands out for its looks and the fact that it meets all my needs. I’ve been browsing reviews and reading articles... and everyone raves about them! Considering that they offer just as much as a Lexus, at a MUCH lower price (the Lexus market has gone through the roof with prices for cars 10 years old and older), the fact that the AWD system can overheat when driving hard, the batteries aren’t cheap, and you can’t take either of them to the track - I get that.

So the question is: what’s the catch that makes these supposedly so reliable, comfortable, fast, and beautiful cars so affordable? I’m definitely aware that there might be an issue with parts, since I live in Europe. And for any major repairs, I’ll most likely have to send the car somewhere further away within the country.

I’m expecting to pay around 20–25k euros for my own car.

The only things I’m missing in these cars (in terms of features) are ventilated seats and a HUD, and I’m not sure if they have adaptive cruise control).

Have SSRIs ruined my sex life?

M29. In my sex life (i.e., since I was 16), I’ve had problems with erections and premature ejaculation. But this only happened at the very beginning of intercourse. After a few weeks with a new partner, everything would go back to normal - 5 to 15 minutes was the norm, and sometimes it could even last a full hour (of course, there were occasional problems with erections during sex or with climaxing, but only briefly.

Unfortunately, when I was 20, I had to start treatment for anxiety disorders. I was prescribed venlafaxine, which increased the average duration of intercourse. In short: I took various SSRI/SNRI medications on and off for about 7–8 years. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with ADHD (who would’ve guessed?), and I also started a relationship. I was prescribed Medikinet (at the time, I was still on 20 mg of paroxetine), and at first, I had no problems with sex. The problems started when I began tapering off the SSRI. I became so hypersensitive that all it took was for my partner to touch me near my thigh, and my hips would already be arching with arousal. And the duration of intercourse dropped from those few to a dozen or so minutes to just 1–3. To keep this brief, I’ll describe a few of the most important:

The biggest problem is that the tension around my Kegel muscles and prostate is so intense that I can’t relax it. Sensitivity plus starting from a high level of arousal means that even when adjusting my position, my muscles tense up so much that I climax immediately. When I’m masturbating, I’m able to control it much better—even using my hand or a toy—and I can last up to 30 minutes.

- Since I’ve been with her, I haven’t watched pornography. I don’t rule out a masturbation habit, because while I was on medication, it was very hard for me to climax
- I have a sedentary job, and I do strength training—during sex, I feel very intense tension in my body around the prostate and Kegel muscles (I’ve tried both reverse and regular Kegels). I saw a physical therapist about this—it helped a little,
- I saw a urologist who pointed out (which might be important to some of you) that I had prostatitis. I was prescribed Diclac and Tadalafil. So far, I haven’t seen any results.
- What’s important, though, is that in my previous relationships I had a lot of sex, and it was often my partners who initiated it. Here, I have to be the one to initiate it; I feel pressure and anxiety, so the psychological factor definitely plays a big role
- I’ve tried gel and condoms—to no avail.
- Fun fact: I was still on medication before I met my girlfriend, and I had a one-night stand with a friend. I don’t think I could come for about an hour.

I probably don’t need to mention that my current situation is causing me a great deal of frustration, shame, and a loss of self-confidence. I’ve always been good in bed (even without the handicap of medication), and now this is happening. I’m wondering if taking medication could have had a long-term effect on this? I think it has to do with serotonin inhibition; maybe it’s also related to ADHD and my current treatment. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a way out of this if it’s secondary? I saw a sexologist; he said there’s a chance, and he wanted to prescribe Tadalafil and Paroxetine, but I don’t want to go back on medication if I don’t have to. On the other hand, I’m afraid my brain is so out of whack that there’s no turning back. That realization is probably the worst part.
I’d be happy to answer any questions.
