Promotion and payrise means I can't discuss this milestone
Recently got got a promotion and a payrise with it. We were discussing team dynamics and congratulating people on changing roles- promoted within our team.
I was asked if I got a good raise with my promotion for my hard work to which I responded, yes.
Later my boss said I can't discuss my payrise and i was made to feel like i was in the wrong.
Why would I take on a role with more responsibility and a more demanding workload without a raise?
I'm annoyed about being shut down for being proud of my achievement in being promoted.
It's not like I said the amount of my raise and rubbed it in everyone's face. I don't discuss how much I earn anyway because I know well enough that I don't make near what the others at my level do. I worked really hard in a male populated work place to get the opportunity to progress and now I feel like I can't be proud of myself.
