It's been three years since "Love Triangle"

And boy has it been a ride. The hurt in Conrad’s eyes when he sees Belly and Jere make out, the conversation with Belly after. The birth of sassy Conrad, he will always be famous, and that scene was the one thing that got me through this episode, as the pain just keeps growing right after. Exile playing when he leaves the two and then breaks down outside, that was just agonizing.

While it was clear as day that Belly and Conrad would get back together at the end of the show (the composition of them all lying in bed or on the floor, the lighting says it all), having to wait for season 3 for two years was no fun at all. Especially after being left with Belly in a relationship with Jere, saying that this isn’t what she pictured, while Conrad is back at the summer house and puts everything back in place.

But glad that we made it out, and let’s hope for sassy Conrad 2.0 in the movie.

This moment speaks volumes about Conrad's character

To know that Conrad had to find out about his mother being sick again the same day he found out that his dad had cheated on her with his secretary is one thing. But to, five years later, find out that Adam decided to pursue an actual relationship with Kayleigh is on another level. Had Jere not made him to keep quiet during that car ride the other day, we would have witnessed sassy Conrad 2.0.

This little moment at the rehearsal dinner is really showing how far Conrad has come. With all the shit that is going on with Belly and Jere and the wedding, he now has to sit next to his POS dad and his partner that is the woman Adam cheated on Susannah with. But he sucks it up and compliments her on her planning talent which makes her feel appreciated. You can see how much it means to her that Adam’s son is kind of welcoming her in this scenario. He „accepts“ her and doesn’t make her feel bad.

That must have been really hard for him, knowing the lore behind it all. And you can honestly tell, how he is building up the courage to make that comment about the table and make conversation with her and Adam. But this is who Conrad is, at the end of the day. He wants everyone to feel okay, especially when not everyone knows what he knows (and Laurel, John and Belly).

I really appreciated him doing that, it says a lot about his values and character.

A year ago, almost everyone yelled at the screen and told Belly to make her fiancé an uncle

This scene was one of the scenes from the book I was really scared about, because it could've been a complete failure but boy! The buzz, the tension, the lighting, the pacing, Lola and Chris being prettier than ever... it was everything.

Can't wait to see these photos on a wall in their apartment✨

I really hope we'll see these photos (and of course previous ones) somewhere in their apartment in the movie. Jenny (and the whole team) has always been very dedicated to every detail on screen, and I am really curious to see what their shared place is going to look like.

“Belly was with Jeremiah first”

I just wanted to put this here because I’ve seen this phrase several times recently and it still baffles me how people try to put that out there when it’s just not true.

Yes, Belly and Jeremiah did kiss a few times (we see three occasions, I think, please correct me if I’m wrong) before Conrad and her kissed on the beach. Does that mean they were together first? NO.

First, Belly and Conrad almost kissed on the Fourth of July and got interrupted and after that probably insecure about the other’s feelings for them (they were 16/17, I would have been insecure about that as well).
Then Jere made a move on her after he knew that Belly was sad about the almost kiss situation. They didn’t really talk until the car make-out, and didn’t even “talk” talk about it after the kiss in front of the house. So, they didn’t talk about what they were at all, at least from what we’ve seen on screen.

But the more important thing is the fact that even though she kissed Jere a few times, over the span of a few days, maybe two weeks ish, she didn’t tell anyone about it, other than Taylor (her friends don’t matter in that context).
Steven only found out after he saw them and she kind of freaked out about anyone finding out and kept it a secret (whatever “it” was at that time).
But when she kissed Conrad, she wanted to tell Jere immediately and they even entered the house holding hands… and were happy when Susannah found them together, they weren’t scared of showing that they liked each other.

So, that alone should show everyone that she wasn’t with Jere first, because she would’ve told people if they actually were something, like she did with Conrad right after. And she was so giddy about that, until Jere had to ruin it for them.

how has it been a year already?

That episode was just perfection.

What was your favourite part? Has it changed after seeing for the first time?

Conrad asking Belly to proof his application essay five times vs. Jeremiah taking a job offer without asking her

When Conrad set his mind on applying to Stanford, he wrote an essay and asked Belly to read it several times to make sure it’s good. They were dating at that time and that probably wasn’t the only time he asked for her opinion on something. They always talked about the important and deep stuff with each other. And they did that with such an ease, he even felt comfortable enough (when they weren’t even dating) to tell her about the day he found out about both Susannah’s cancer being back and Adam cheating on her. She was the only person he told, not even Susannah or Adam ever found out.

That, to me, shows how important Belly and her views on certain things are to him. I mean, he quit smoking (weed) after she jokingly told him to.

And then we have Jeremiah, who has been with Belly for four years and, to this day, does things the way he wants to without asking Belly first. Of course, he is his own person, he doesn’t need to ask someone for their opinion.

But I do think you should tell your girlfriend that you are going on a trip with your frat boys earlier than like two days before. We all know he orchestrated the whole thing, so of course he made her find out like this and then started a fight with her, but logically speaking, he should have told her sooner.

But even worse to me is the job situation. He got the job offer from his dad and talks about it with his brother who gives him good advice about doing something for himself and not their dad and he then goes ahead and just takes the job? Without telling Belly, your fiancé, that you took a job that is not in the city you both currently live in? You are about to get married and you can’t even tell her that, your dad has to let her know?

After she canceled her Paris dreams for you, because she didn’t want to leave you after you had to repeat a semester at Finch. Just for you to tell her that you will take the classes online. That is some behaviour.

I honestly don’t want to always bring Jere and his behaviour up, but there’s just so much that is wrong and it was deliberately put there from Jenny and the writers to compare the brothers. I don’t like that, because I feel like it makes the connection Belly and Conrad have less special, but then I know that I love them for what they have and not for what Jere and her don’t. They work because they just do and little things (like talking on the phone for hours or asking the other to tutor you or proof an essay) are enough to show how important they are to each other.

tl;dr - To Conrad, Belly's opinions and thoughts have always been important (and Jere couldn't even bother to tell his fiancé about the job he took)

The buzz of this moment🫠

The aisle was big enough for him to walk past her, very easily. He did not need to take the cart from her, like THAT. But he just physically couldn't stay away from her. But who can blame him? She was stunning in his POV (every time, of course)

She did NOT want to go back to Cousins and see Conrad again

Our girl really stayed away two whole weeks and put up with Adam not wanting her there just to avoid her feelings, poor Belly😂

If your whole timeline works, why let it be ruined by one line?

Season 3 has several mentions of the time that has passed over the season. And it mostly adds up. Except for that one time. Steven and Denise take the train to New York and he tells her that he almost died two weeks ago. But that doesn’t make sense.

Approximate timeline season 3 - summer 2027

Early June
Steven has his accident; BellyJere engagement

About a week passes
Belly moving out of her dorm (slide 2, 1st frame)

After that
Susannah’s memorial

June 25
Belly’s birthday (slide 2, 2nd frame)

June 27
Jere leaves Cousins; Conrad bakes for Belly (slide 3, 1st frame)

July 3/4
Belly and Conrad spend the day together; wedding shopping (slide 3, 2nd frame)

Same day
Steven and Denise go to New York (slide 1)

I get that some continuity issues happen and that is totally fine. It’s just that if your whole timeline works, even up to the finale (but the other months aren’t necessary for this post), why let a mistake like that happen?
Jenny and the writers knew that every tiny thing in the show would get over-analyzed by so many of us (myself included). It’s not that hard to write the timeline down, and I’m sure they did because other than this incident, pretty much everything makes sense and lines up perfectly. So why not just tell Sean to say four weeks instead of two weeks?

I know it’s irrelevant to the plot but that’s just stuff that bothers me and I hope I’m not the only one. Especially when the show has SO many easter eggs planted that are important and put there for the fans to notice.

Side note, there’s been debate about Belly’s birthday being either 25 or 26, I just went with 25 because it makes more sense in my opinion.

Susannah's ring

There’s been much debate on whether Belly should/would have Susannah’s ring. What irks me the most about all of this is the fact that Jeremiah was actually planning to give Belly that ring.

When they announced that there were engaged, Adam made clear that Jere would not get the ring from Susannah. It hadn’t been relevant after Belly showed off her own engagement ring. But later we see Jere read a note from Conrad who got the ring from Adam for Jere to give Belly at their wedding, mentioning that Bely should have Susannah’s ring.

I just can’t believe that Jeremiah would actually go ahead – after knowing all along that his brother was still in love with his fiancé – and take the ring Conrad got for him and give it to Belly.  Do you not feel bad for not putting in any effort to get that ring and then just taking it? We know that he planned to give it to her, he took it with him to go to Belly before they broke off the wedding. And later jokingly wanted to give it away at the bar.

If I was in that situation and knew that my brother had still been in love with my fiancé and made the effort to get our mother’s ring, because it must mean something to all of them, I would not for a second think about using it for our wedding?! (If any of us was in that entire situation, most of it  would not have happened, I know that)

The second Adam said „you better not think that I’ll give you your mother’s ring“ it was clear that either him or Conrad would give them the ring eventually. But not once did I think that Jere would accept that. Especially after fighting with Conrad and reading Conrad’s letter instead of his own. His mother wrote that Conrad had only been in love once, with Belly, his own fiancé. How could you go to your wedding venue, read Conrad’s note and actually take the ring? Seriously?

Side note, its pretty likely that that ring will be used in the movie, which I don’t necessarily hate, since it was special to Susannah and maybe to Belly as well because its something from her second mother to always have with her then. But I just think it’s too big for Belly. Don't get me wrong, the ring is beautiful and the style would fit Belly, generally. I just would’ve thought that she would wear something slightly smaller?

I still hope that it’s going to be a new ring or that they took Susannah’s ring and changed it a bit to make it something new for them. >!But the leaks showed quite a visible ring, so it’s probably going to be Susannah’s!<. What do you guys think?

This is where she starts actively deceiving herself

After Susannah died and the drama with the boys, Belly made it a point in her life to not hurt Jeremiah again. She said it herself in the show.
And to do that, she took key aspects of her relationship with Conrad and transferred them onto Jeremiah to gaslight her own brain into thinking he’s the real deal.

In this moment she is about to ride the tower of terror. I bet there has been at least one post that shows how ironic it is for Belly and Jere’s relationship to “start” on the tower of terror so I’m not going to analyze that now.
But what’s important here is the choice of her words. It’s like convincing herself that he IS always there, present tense. Which, in reality, wasn’t the case since he ignored her for almost a year the second he didn’t get his way. She is rewriting her knowledge about Conrad and changes it to be Jere.
In season 3 at her bachelorette party we see her remembering that Conrad has always been there for her. She’s known that since they were kids. She used to think that he would appear out of thin air when she thought of him.

It’s just like with Rosie the dog. It was Conrad that cried over her and that memory was so special to Belly but she had to rewrite that memory to shut Conrad out of her brain, to evict him from her heart. So she changes it to Jeremiah and uses it as such a big thing she knows about him when it’s actually been Conrad all along.

Season 2 was released 3 years ago. we really got to witness the beauty of Christmas 1.0 and had to suffer through both prom and the funeral on the same day.

Looking back on summer 2023, we should really be proud of ourselves that me made it through. That season was so hard to watch and see all of our favorite characters go through so much pain and make some questionable decisions.

And then to think that we had to wait two years for season 3 made it so much worse. But we stuck it out and were rewarded with some of the best book to screen adapted scenes, if you ask me.

Respectfully, this is straight-up ridiculous

What version of the show have I not seen where Conrad shows Belly off in front of Jeremiah? Seriously, be for real.

Whenever Belly and Conrad were with each other in front of other people while dating, they kept things completely PG. In 205 at Thanksgiving, they are "hugging" and stop the second Jere enters the room. Conrad even puts his hands in the air like "I didn't do anything".

Unlike Jere, who took every chance he could to make sure Conrad sees that he gets to touch/hold/kiss Belly and not Conrad. Do people that write stuff like that just ignore the scene in 305 when Belly and Conrad are having dinner together and Jere interrupts them and keeps marking his territory in front of his brother?

Most people when they’re cold: put on some pants… Belly when she’s cold, only wearing an oversized t-shirt:

She was exactly where she wanted to be ✨

Belly jokingly telling Conrad to quit smoking at 17 and him still staying true to that six years later 🧡 Meanwhile the other one..

I never get tired of enjoying the little things that make Conrad the right fit for Belly. Sure, they’re it for each other regardless, but it’s just more fun making fun of Jerewonka every once in a while.

What room are Bly and Conrad staying in at the summer house?

Silly question just for fun. Since Belly and Conrad are probably going to share a room from now on, which room do you think is it going to be? I thought probably Belly’s, it’s bigger, closer to the bathroom and it’s her show/movie at the end of the day, with Conrad being very close second.
But maybe she wants to stay in his room because that’s what she’s dreamed about for so long 🙈

Side note, both rooms are very pretty and match perfectly. And also, in Belly’s room you can tell the amount of time that has passed with her room being messy as hell at 15/16 and at 21 it’s just as tidy as Conrad’s.

ETA: I just noticed that I somehow spelled Belly wrong in the title. I’m so sorry, my keyboard was playing tricks on me.

Belly on her birthday when Conrad is there vs. when with Jere 🎂

Yes, I know that the one where she hugs Conrad after he baked her dirt bombs is not her actual birthday but two days after. And no, I didn’t include her 16th birthday because yes she was sad, BUT she would have been so happy if Conrad had given her the necklace that day.

Also, it will never not be funny to me that she fully cried on her 21st birthday, TWICE, because she didn’t have her mom with her when she got a wedding (prom) dress and later at night after that huge fight with Laurel. What a nice birthday that must’ve been.

Anyways, I’m not sure if show Belly’s birthday is June 25 or 26, so happy (belated?) birthday I guess.
