I have a huge crush on someone I barely know!

I'm a 31M who recently moved from Delhi to Surat for work.

I work in the admin department at a school, and there's a teacher from another department (28F) who has completely caught my attention.

We've talked a handful of times. Nothing extraordinary—just small conversations in the hallway, a few smiles, work-related chats. But somewhere along the way, my brain decided, "Yep, we're doing this now."

The funny part is that she seems like a very typical Surat girl—soft-spoken, close to her colleagues, and pretty reserved. Meanwhile, I'm from Delhi, where people are generally a lot more direct. I can't tell if she's just being polite, friendly, or if there's even the slightest bit of interest.

The bigger issue is the workplace. Asking someone out at a school feels risky. I don't want to make her uncomfortable, create awkwardness, or become "that admin guy who asked out a teacher." At the same time, I also don't want to spend months wondering "what if?"

So now I'm stuck in that weird limbo:

Is she just being nice?

Or should I simply enjoy the harmless crush and let it fade?

For people who've been in a similar situation—especially in India or conservative workplaces—what would you do?

I'd genuinely appreciate honest advice.
