Zoom keeps spitting out 640x360 recordings even though my camera is shooting full HD. What am I missing?

I have used zoom twice now to record myself speaking to clients and getting their testimonials and both times it has given me a 640x360 cloud recording.

I am using a Sony ZV E10 to record.

What can I freaking do?

Best KVM Switch recommendations for 2 Macbook Pros

I wanted to get a KVM switch TESmart 4K 60Hz, but that's too expensive in Pakistan.
So I am considering if I should get this one: UNITEK HDMI KVM Switch 4K@60Hz, 4x USB 3.0 Ports (5Gbps) Plug-and-Play.

My only concern is if it would work nicely with 2 macs.

I have 1 mac from my office, 1 mac for my personal work.

I work from home and need to switch my Mic, Camera, and Monitor in between both, as I need the larger monitor for my design/coding work.

Does anyone know if it would work, or if there's a better alternative.

Claude mentioned:

The Unitek V1309AGY01 spec sheet does NOT mention EDID emulation. Based on my research, this is the single most important feature for Mac KVM compatibility, and its absence is a significant compatibility risk.

Why EDID emulation matters specifically for Macs:

From AV Access (KVM industry expert):

When a KVM does NOT have EDID emulation:

  • When you switch to the other Mac, your first Mac loses the monitor connection
  • macOS treats this as "monitor disconnected"
  • Your desktop windows get rearranged, app positions reset
  • When you switch back, you may need to reposition everything
  • Worst case: your Mac in clamshell mode may go to sleep and not wake up when you switch back

Minor update: I plan to hold it now based on all of your awesome advice.

Hey guys, looking for honest perspective from people who know the Dubai market.

I bought into Ghaf Woods earlier this year as a long-term investment play. Total ticket is AED 1,600,000+ and I'm about 25% in on the payment plan so far. The unit is in the Ghaf Woods masterplan in Dubailand — the forest-themed community Majid Al Futtaim is developing.

Now I'm second-guessing the decision. Between the regional war situation, softening sentiment, reduced property prices in some segments, and what feels like very thin buyer demand on the secondary market right now, I'm not sure how this plays out over the next 3–5 years.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

  1. Is Ghaf Woods specifically holding up, or are off-plan launches in that area seeing resale pressure?
  2. For people who've held through previous Dubai cycles — does it usually make sense to keep paying instalments and ride it out, or cut losses early before more capital is locked in?
  3. Has anyone tried to offload an off-plan unit at 25% paid recently? What did the discount look like vs. original price?

Options I'm weighing: hold and keep paying, try to sell now and take the hit, or stop and forfeit. None of them feel great.

Any input from people who've been through a similar situation would really help. Thanks.

Hey guys,

I'm a designer and I kept a bunch of time trying to fade a few product screenshots in for a launch post or Dribbble shot. Felt insane for a 5-second clip.

So I built Framey: drop images, pick entry/exit animations, choose easing, export MP4. Runs entirely in the browser.

What's in it:

- 26 easing curves (bounce, elastic, overshoot, custom)

- Entry + exit animations per image

- 56 wallpaper backgrounds + custom gradient picker

- Timeline scrubber with real-time preview

- First-frame preview for social thumbnails

- Keyboard shortcuts

- MP4 export

Free, no signup, no watermark. Not planning to add subscriptoins or anything — built it because I needed it.

You can also see the youtube video here.

Two things I'd love feedback on:

  1. The export speed on longer sequences (10+ images) — does it choke on your machine?
  2. What animation pattern would you actually use this for? Trying to figure out what to build next.

Roast it.
