Brand New Day, if only it were better, lol.

Before anyone asks, I genuinely enjoyed the movie; this is just a meme, obviously.

This fandom is allergic to creativity.

This is more of a vent than anything else; Steven Seagle was recently interviewed by Kuro and revealed a few things, such as the "Rule of 10" and the fact that Gwen won't have powers in this new Dynamite iteration.

After that, I had to watch countless people whining, complaining, and saying they wouldn't buy the comic anymore (people who claimed to be "Ben 10 fans").

But honestly, is it really that bad? I'll start with the point about Gwen not having powers, and to be frank, I LOVE it.

Gwen's magical powers were simply tacked onto the character out of nowhere in the OS without the slightest bit of development—it was just, "Now you have powers, and that's that."

Gwen was always the resourceful girl who solved problems using her intellect and, when necessary, some solid Karate moves.

But when Gwen turned into a "bootleg Zatanna," that sort of became her *entire* character; we rarely saw her solving things with ingenuity or using her physical moves—it was just "Magic, Magic, Magic" (and it was even worse in UAF where they turned her into a bland Pink Lantern).

Honestly, I think that hurt Gwen's character in the long run. So, a version of Gwen who has no powers and relies solely on "human ingenuity" to solve problems and help her grandfather and cousin is cool and fits the character well. Plus, it gives her more credit (she's doing it on her own without needing stupid magic; she's just being Gwen).

Now, regarding the "evil Rule of 10," I’m also going to defend that decision and share my reasons for agreeing with it:

  1. This rule helps from a narrative standpoint by serving as a natural "auto-nerf" for Ben; limiting him to just 10 aliens forces him to be more creative with how he uses his transformations—for example:

Ben: "I need an alien with Chlorokinesis to handle this situation."

He doesn't have any aliens with Chlorokinesis.

Proceeds to turn into Shittrack.

Ben: Okay, this'll have to do.

  1. It allows all the aliens to appear and get their moment in the spotlight; one of the main issues with series like UA and OV is the absurdly massive number of transformations.

I mean, what’s the point of having 80 transformations if only a tenth of them actually show up and get any focus? Aliens like Chromastone only appeared about twice, whereas Humungousaur, Rath, Four Arms, and Feedback showed up in almost every episode. DAMMIT, SOME DIDN'T EVEN APPEAR AT ALL! (Spitter, Jetray, Fasttrack, and ChamAlien).

With just 10, every alien has a chance to appear and get some spotlight.

  1. And finally, what is the franchise called? There’s a reason it’s named "Ben 10."

Maybe it’s because Ben is 10 years old and has 10 aliens? Seriously, the moment Ben stops being 10 and stops having 10 aliens, the name "Ben 10" loses its logic and meaning—so let's just keep things consistent.

New covers for issue #5

Like other covers, these also reference old movies.

Cover 1: I couldn't quite recognize it, but it looks like it's from Journey to the Center of the Earth?

Cover 2: The Silence of the Lambs

Cover 3: Killer clowns from outer space

Pages from Issue #5

It was obvious that Kraab didn't die. **THIS IS A COMIC, DAMMIT!** Lol, nobody dies in comics (except Uncle Ben).

And Rozum really should pull a Thunderbolt Ross against the Tennysons (he could be Lt. Steel, right? But maybe even MOA won't remember him lol).

Now I understand why Albedo hates his human form so much

Azmuth is a jerk for leaving him trapped in that form, that's torture.

The guy actually managed to make Charcoal-Man and Big Bug sound like good names lol

"Fire Guy" and "Smelly Bug" are crap lol

The GOAT has returned!

It would be cool if they used him again to defame UA (like they did on the show lol)

Fun fact: Did you know that Mr. Hyde is an alien in Ben 10?

I find it funny that this came from OV and not UAF, but anyway.

IT'S SHOW TIME!

I bet they'll announce what Ben's 11th alien will be, that would be a huge announcement (besides the upcoming story arcs, of course).

This idea should have been used during the shows LMAO!

To be honest, I like this idea of showing the behind-the-scenes and conceptual ideas behind this new interaction (although I think it's a bit early to do that).

But i wonder why they didn't do that when the shows were still airing. It would have been really cool to have an "almanac" from that time with trivia and behind-the-scenes information.

So there is still hope!

Well, that's pretty obvious, Ben 10 is Cartoon Network's biggest franchise and they weren't going to just let it die. They've been trying to bring the franchise back for a long time, and the Dynamite comics prove it.

We don't have many transformations, but the un-transformations are a delight in themselves.

Looking back now, I don't think we've ever had many detransformations scenes in the franchise overall; the only one I remember is Ghostfreak's in AF.

How would you add them to Ben 10 verse?

For those who don't know, Sym-bionic Titan was originally planned to be part of the Ben 10 universe (along with Generator Rex and The Secret Saturdays).

Unfortunately, that won't happen anytime soon, my friend.

Although the announcement of Absolute Batman: The Animated Series gave us hope, we're still in the early stages of the issue, we've barely finished an entire arc yet.

After all these years, are the aliens from OS still the best in the franchise? What do you think of each one?

Honestly, I love the aliens from OS not only for their creative designs but also for how unique they are, none of them overshadows the others (Fasttrack cough cough).

Not to mention how simple they are in concept and skills, but that's part of their charm.

Note: BenEon is the ABSOLUTE GOAT of everyone here and doesn't deserve to be defamed, he's awesome.
