EU Salary Transparency May Expose Unequal Treatment of Employees in Dutch Companies

A new EU law has passed that basically states that companies in the European Union MUST state their salaries in their job description. This may actually lead to some employees to realise that they are getting underpaid market value compared to coworkers in the same company.

Mileva Marić-Einstein's father, mother, and sister are buried in Almaško Groblje (Novi Sad, Serbia)

Hello r/Serbia,

I did some investigating online and discovered that most of Mileva Marić-Einstein's family is buried in Almaško Groblje (Novi Sad) but there is no information on this in the English language. Meanwhile, her brother seems to be buried in Saratov, Russia.
Father: Miloš Marić from 1846-1922
Mother: Marija Ružić-Marić from 1847-1935
Sister: Zorka Marić from 1883-1938

I am sharing this information so their memory and dedication will not be forgotten. They were huge supporters of education and progress.

Ngl, I feel like the Kentucky Derby Princesses are getting underpaid for their effort and appearances. Yes, they do get to keep the nice dresses and accessories but models get paid more AND oftentimes get to keep items. I also think that the $1,000 scholarships to two women haven't changed in 10 years despite inflation.

Churchill Downs has gotten so rich that they recently bought out Preakness Stakes.

Hello! I had a quick encounter with a neighbor, a Dutch boomer, who looked completely confused as to why I am unemployed. I told him that I, a native English speaker, have been receiving rejection letters from companies/organisations because I am not a fluent Dutch speaker. The elderly man was so confused and admitted that basically everyone knows English.

This contradicts a rejection email from a pastry shop that basically said: Sorry, we can't hire you because our clientele is older and may not know English. This may lead to awkward situations.

What are your thoughts on this?
