New Lexus Purchase

Last week I went to look over both a 2008 and 2011 Lexus ES. While I like the color scheme of the ‘08 better, it also has the benefit of having under 100k miles and a well documented service history. / The 2011 on the other hand has more miles (little over 130k) and a detailed service history however, most of the service has been done at budget auto centers rather than the Lexus/Toyota dealer.

My question, does the 2011 have any value in being a newer model year? And if so, does that trump the fact it has more miles than the ‘08? / Second question, how much of a concern is non-dealer service - especially when it’s work going beyond an oil change?

Basically, should I go for the newer 2011 Lexus ES, or stick with the older ‘08 with less miles. (I should note they are similar in price so that plays less of a concern.) Thanks!

New Lexus Purchase

Last week I went to look over two Lexus ES’s for sale, one a 2008, the other a 2011. My question, does the 2011 have any value in being a newer model year? And if so, does that trump the fact it has more miles than the ‘08? / Second question, how much of a concern is non-dealer service especially when it’s work performed by a budget/chain shop?

Basically, should I go for newer 2011 Lexus ES, or stick with the older ‘08 less miles. I should note they are similar in price so that plays less of a concern. Thanks!
