Do you think Pokemon need to “socialize” with each other in order to wander to different areas of a map? Are there other overlooked quirks?
I saw a comment mentioning something related to this and it got me thinking. I’ve previously had issues with Pokemon utilizing rails/lifts to get to different parts of the big maps leaving certain areas empty.
But once I had one following me and led it to another Pokémon’s habitat on the opposite side of rocky ridges and then dropped it there, suddenly that Pokemon would frequently move between those two spots and even take the rail system I set up to do it. I didn’t even have a shop/hot springs set up there. I’ve seen something similar with getting Pokemon to visit the SS Anne when they live on the opposite end of Bleak Beach.
I’ve also noticed that actually placing down signs including the arrow signs will help them navigate. A lot of this stuff I assumed was decorative or superficial, but even throwing a party with the cooking pot will lead to more Pokemon interactions after.
Has anyone else noticed any quirks like this? I think Animal Crossing primed me to assume most systems are just for theming and not actually useful. The AI in this game seems to be a lot more detailed, but without data mining a lot of it is left up to assumption I guess?
