Hello everyone, i’ve been playing for a little over than a month an a rental sax and the contract expire soon so i am looking to buy my first sax.

The problem is that il a student so for now im on a budget, i’ve seen thomann selling some very cheap saxophone but i dont know if they are any good. There is also some on Facebook marketplace but i dont know wich brand i can trust, if you have recommandation i would gladly take them !

Hi everyone, i’ve been playing the saxophone for a month now and today i wanted to learn how to tongue the reed for a tune that i wanna learn.

So i searches on this subreddit and i found a really nice video of a guy explaining the correct way to do it. But then i realised that the guy had a completely different tongue positionning when playing his sax.

I put the tip of my tongue on the reed, just before my lower lips so basically the type of my tongue touchez de reed and my lower lips.

But the guy played with the tip of his tongue touching the lower parts of his teeth. And because of this he could easily tongue the reed.

So im wondering if i put my tongue in a bad spot and if i should really work on placing my tongue like him.

Disclaimer : yeah I know i should have taken a teacher from the start but its so hard to find one in my area they are all ghosting for god sake
