I mean, why not? It'd be a huge flex to have your dog rock a silence trimmed wolf armor with netherite.

It's gonna conflict with the dye system tho, so it's either that or a smithing template system. The only way I can see both working is that the entirety of the armor could be dyed instead of certain parts of it, and instead of solid color being applied, the tones of the armor should remain visible.

They literally have a butcher, how come they don't accept meat to breed with other villagers???
