Acer Swift 3 Charging Problem Escalated to No Power
On May 11, 2026, my Acer Swift 3 stopped charging through its original 65W round Acer charger and produced a super slight burning smell. Testing showed the chargers and outlets were working, but the laptop would only charge through USB Type-C using an Infinix 180W charger, leading me to believe the issue was related to the round charging port.
From May 12–17, the laptop functioned normally and charged through USB-C.
On May 17, 2026, I brought it to TechnoHub Magic to buy a compatible Type-C laptop charger. Before the visit, the laptop was still working with around 85% battery. After a staff member checked or pressed something at the back of the laptop and connected the original Acer charger, a stronger burning smell occurred and the laptop no longer turned on.
What could be the issue with my laptop? Could it still be just the charging port?”
