This is the worst time in history to be unemployed. Even before AI, automation was increasing and companies were hiring fewer staff. Recruitment freezes are happening across all sectors. If AI takes a huge number of jobs, it will put more of us on the scrapheap. Even worse, there won't be enough money being paid in tax to fund the welfare state and state pensions. We are heading towards a feudal society.
