Leaving PHL during layover before trip to Athens
Later this year, I have a 7 hour layover at PHL. I will be traveling to PHL from another city in the US and from PHL, I head to Athens. I have not decided whether I will have a checked bag or a carry-on but if I leave the airport, do I need to take my bags with me?
If I check my bag all the way through from my originating airport, which is an international airport, will I have to worry about it? If I have a carry-on, can I ask someone (in my group) who will be staying at the airport to hold onto it for me while I explore the city? Are there lockers at the airport that I can store it in?
When returning to the airport will I simply go back through security?
If you have experience doing this and/or would instead just recommend getting a day pass for a lounge, I appreciate your thoughts as well. Thanks
