Nanopresso pressure buildup suddenly taking 20 pumps - faulty unit? Just got it yesterday.

Hey everyone,

My Nanopresso arrived yesterday. I used the same preground coffee from Blue Tokai both yesterday and today. Yesterday, when pulling shots, pressure would build up in around 6-7 pumps and coffee would start coming out immediately after that. I pulled around 3-4 shots and everything felt normal.

Today, using the exact same preground coffee, same amount of coffee powder, same water level, same process, the pressure buildup is taking around 15-20 pumps before coffee starts coming out. After that, extraction happens normally.

I've now pulled around 5-7 shots just total on the device.

Is this normal for a new Nanopresso, or could there be an issue with the device/seals/pump? Since everything else was the same, I'm confused why the behavior changed overnight.

Would appreciate if anyone who owns a Nanopresso has experienced something similar.

Is this even worth it at this price?

Nearly 8000 INR for the Cafflano Kompresso seems a bit steep for a manual handheld espresso maker with very less solid parts.

Just wanted opinions from people who've actually used it:

Is the espresso quality genuinely good?

Does it feel durable or gimmicky?

Is it practical for regular use?

Worth paying this much, or are there better alternatives in the same range?

Trying to figure out whether this is actually good value or just overpriced for what it is.

Why are my Nanopresso shots brown instead of black?

Used Blue Tokai Attikan Estate (medium-dark roast) with their home espresso grind in a Nanopresso. I preheated the Nanopresso once by pumping boiling water through it before brewing. The shots come out dark brown/reddish with light crema instead of looking black like café espresso. Is this normal or is the grind/extraction off? Attached pics.

Just ordered a Wacaco Nanopresso - which Blue Tokai grind should I get?

Hey guys, I just ordered a Wacaco Nanopresso and I'm planning to buy coffee from Blue Tokai for it. Which grind size would you recommend I select while ordering?

I won't be getting a grinder anytime soon, so I'll be relying on pre-ground coffee for now.

Any specific blends/roasts you'd recommend too?

My Wacaco Minipresso NS2 came today and tried reusing the same Nespresso Original compatible capsule like 4-5 times already using Blue Tokai ground coffee. Sealed the front with regular aluminium foil and honestly it works absolutely fine lol. Surprisingly good crema, strong shot, and the taste is actually really good. Didn't expect this tiny thing to work this well with reused pods.

Also

How many times can I realistically reuse a Nespresso-compatible pod before it starts causing issues? I’ve reused the same one 4–5 times so far and it still works fine.

NS2 seems more convenient with capsules. while Nanopresso uses ground coffee and gives more control.

I'm planning to drink at least 2 shots daily. Also, since the Nanopresso is older than the NS2, is it still worth it?

daily home use atleast 2x a day.

Also

I already ordered the NS2 without thinking much (arriving tomorrow). Should I cancel it and get the Nanopresso instead, or just stick with the NS2?
