New to the Hermès Game - NYC
Hi! Long time Hermès admirer here, but I’ve honestly been too intimidated to fully start the “game” so far. I was hoping to get some advice on how people found a good sales associate in NYC and built the relationship over time to eventually secure a QB (beyond the obvious unspoken prespend component).
I have a few Hermès items already, mostly from online purchases or easier-to-purchase in-store items (Orans, scarves, etc.), plus two bags from resellers. I’d really like to start building a purchase history directly with the brand, but I feel a little overwhelmed about how to actually begin.
How did you meet your SA? Did you just walk into your local store, browse RTW/shoes/homeware, and see who you clicked with?
I previously lived in London, and when I shopped there I was told SAs specialized by department. I ended up working with a leather goods associate, put in a wishlist, and purchased a non-quota bag in hopes that starting some purchase history would help my chances over time. From what I understand, the process works a bit differently in the US, so I’m trying to figure out the best approach here.
I’m based in NYC and deciding between the Meatpacking and Madison locations. Would really appreciate any advice, experiences, or SA recommendations if allowed. Thank you in advance xx
