My heart is saying ....an IPL can not end without a Jaiswal century.
Just Saying. I think the day is today.
Just Saying. I think the day is today.
Is he someone who can play between 15-20 balls and score 22-30 respectively in overs 6-12?
Hence I support them.
Ever since the last match, I’ve been thinking a lot about our struggles against spin. It’s incredibly difficult to win a tournament when there’s such a glaring weakness in the batting lineup.
At some point, tough questions need to be asked of the management. Yes, criticism is always easier in hindsight, but in this case the warning signs were visible well in advance and still went unaddressed.
It’s honestly heartbreaking to see Jaiswal in this situation. Never imagined that he and his best friend would end up at the bottom of that list (https://www.iplt20.com/stats/2026). At the start of the season, I genuinely thought Vaibhav would play the quick-fire 20–30 cameos while Jaiswal would settle in and deliver another 700+ run IPL season.
What I don’t understand is where this obsession with captaincy came from. There’s already enough evidence that IPL captaincy doesn’t guarantee an ICT spot. Just look at Patidar, Rahane, Ruturaj, or Pant. Forget ICT selection — it doesn’t even significantly boost brand value. If captaincy carried that much weight, Samson would’ve pushed for a leadership role before considering a move to CSK. At the end of the day, people switch on the TV to watch star cricketers perform. People see Vaibhav bat not captain a side.
Honestly, most cricketers — especially openers — are probably better off avoiding captaincy altogether because it can become a major distraction. Unless you’re someone like Dhoni or Pandya, whose place in the ICT setup was secure because of their wicketkeeping or all-round abilities, the added responsibility often affects your primary skill.
What I admired most about Jaiswal was how he kept evolving every season. Even last year, after a poor start, he bounced back with back-to-back fifties. That sharpness and hunger seem missing right now. Instead of improving, his spin game has actually regressed over the last couple of years.
A lot of people are blaming Vaibhav for affecting his game, but I think both Jaiswal and the management should’ve figured out his role by now. Realistically, he isn’t going to outmuscle players like Vaibhav, Abhishek, or Priyansh in pure boundary-hitting — and those are the kinds of aggressive batters he’ll be competing with in the ICT setup. His best path was always to become that aggressive anchor who balances intent with consistency. But at the moment, he just looks completely underprepared.
PBKS is one game short and a point ahead when compared to teams 2-5 in points table. They will definitely qualify; would have been easier if they beat the other teams to make the points table easier for us.
