Hi,

We contacted Consumer Affairs because we are pretty sure a new tenant was moved in about 2 days after we left under a Notice to Vacate for selling with vacant possession. We really struggled to find a new rental and asked for help up to D-Day, kids had to upend their whole lives moving schools, and as far as I can tell the new tenants are even paying less rent. We think maybe they were never selling in the first place and we were discriminated against because of our kids and conflict of interest of the agent. Provided very detailed timeline to CAV because I thought they were the ones who issued penalties.

CAV call centre advised us to apply for compensation through RDRV.

RDRV site says they handle "disputes across rent increases, repairs and bond and compensation matters".

Maybe it's an Oxford Comma situation - maybe CAV is right and they [RDRV] deal with all compensation matters. But I'm trying to report a literal crime and being asked to serve my own fucking paperwork and to be honest the vibe I'm getting is that RDRV only handles compensation with regard to those specific matters of increases, repairs and bond.

tl;dr should I just go direct to VCAT?
