Hey this is wicked random-
Does anyone know the first name of Ms. (or maybe Mrs.) Swerdlow, she taught reading at Nathan Bishop when I was there from 1996-1999. My only memory of her was when she called me up to her desk and said “your grades, are the pits..” and put me at a desk by myself for a few weeks lol. Anyway, I couldn’t find anything online- just curious, she was a wicked distinct character from childhood- offhand I can remember maybe 5-6 of my middle school teachers, and she’s the most memorable by far

My work commute is 4 miles each way, and I make frequent long trips to the beach & camping in the summer/fall. I've been driving a 2010 Prius with over 212k miles on it (I got it in Nov 2016 w/ 70k miles). It's running pretty well, I was thinking I'd drive it into the ground, could possibly get another 50-60k miles out if it. There are some signs of wear with the transmission though, developing some "charming irregularities." Got a new inverter installed in 2024. But I'm looking at a Rav4 because I just need a bigger car- I can't sit up straight in this Prius without my head pressing into the ceiling. And I lug lots of stuff around, so I could use the cargo space.
