Got a 97 XJ and after I rebuilt the engine last year, I found out that I was losing compression due to a warped cylinder head. Not wanting to rebuild another engine I bought a brand new engine from Titan engines and now I can’t get it to start, let me be clear it’s cranking, but will not fire. So naturally, I replaced the crank position sensor the distributor the ignition coil, the plugs the ECU and I redone all my grounds.

When I use starter fluid it fires, but it’s rough and doesn’t last longer than when I’m holding the key for. I know the engine is at TDC, my last two thoughts are my ASD is bad, my battery terminals are bad or I have the pictured ground set up wrong everytime I see someone post it I see they have 3 wires going to it but I have 4 for some reason??.

I just cleaned the battery terminals and it was working before I lost compression, but the jeep sat for six months before I was able to afford the new engine.

PS: I’ve also tried starting it in neutral, no luck so I know the NSS relay is not related either
