The Essential Ellison: A 35 Year Retrospective

I bought this book a while ago, because I wanted to own I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream as an actual physical copy instead of those audio books. This book not only contains that short story but contains hundreds of other written works by Harlan Ellison, I can't quite recall where I bought it from or how expensive it was, but I seem to remember it being around the $100 - $200 range. There is also a 50 year retrospective, but I don't have that one yet. I don't know if this book is rare, but I know it's quite expensive. The average price I found online was about $400 - $500, so it's safe to say that it has gone up in value quite a bit. This is the only Harlan Ellison related book I have, but as I said above I am planning on buying the 50 year retrospective. You may notice on the back cover of the book it says $19.95 USD, that I assume is how expensive it was when this was first printed. Anyways, all in all it is a very good book and I highly recommend it.

The Penultimate Peril Trivia

I don't know whether this has already been discussed, but in the scene where Count Olaf is placed inside what seems to a broom closet for safe keeping until the trial held in the hotel later, the number on the door of said broom closet is "170", so after doing some research I discovered that 170 refers to "Ethics or Moral Philosophy" according to the Dewey Decimal System. This is interesting since the hotel in this episode is organised like a library. I'll let you decide what to do with this information...

That's Not How The Story Goes...

Every single time I hear this wonderful yet incredibly bittersweet song I find my eyes filling up tears and halfway through the song I am full on sobbing. I'm not sad nor am I angry, it's not even the feeling of standard nostalgia. I can't explain it, it's such an esoteric emotion. Whenever I hear this song, and I do I listen to this song a lot because the feelings it gives me are so I don't know. But when I listen to it, it almost feels as if I live inside the ASOUE universe or have led a similar life to the characters in it, even though I haven't. It really makes me feel like I'm a part of the universe or a character within said universe, I really cannot explain it much better than that. You'd have to somehow be inside my head to truly understand how this song makes me feel. Nonetheless I have heard this song countless times and I find myself crying every damn time, not even sad crying but also not happy... I could trail on about this for hours but I'd find myself saying the same thing over and over, but I'd find myself saying the same thing over and over...

My ASOUE "Stats"

I started watching ASOUE when it first came out in 2017, and to this date I have seen the entire show 50 times. No that is not an exaggeration nor a lie, I have actually watched this show 50 times (today marking the 50th). I have seen the film thrice, read the book series once and seen the TV series 50 times. On two occasions I binged the show so fast that I finished all the seasons within 24 hours (which if my math is correct took me about 19 hours). I adore this show and the ASOUE universe so much, it is easily my favourite show of all time. There is also a great nostalgia factor to this, since I began watching the show in 2017 when I was 7 years old, every time I come back to it it's just so weirdly bittersweet and lovely.

Obviously I know a lot about this show, I know almost every reference and easter egg, and I love to bring some trivia up whenever I watch it with friends or family, speaking of which everyone in my family has also seen this show (although not as much as I have). Also, a random fun fact: I actually have the 2004 film on VHS! Anyways, how many times have ya'll seen the show/film? Also who's your favourite character?
