Uber driver kicked us 8.5km from our destination out due to traffic and Uber support won’t give me compensation.
My family and I are visiting Vienna and my brother is sick so we ordered an Uber to the hospital.
When we got in the car there was a lot of traffic and road closures, the driver said due to a marathon, and the driver pretty much implied after 10 minutes that he didn’t want to take us to our destination.
He kicked us out 8.5km from our destination, when we asked him if we’d be refunded he said we’d have to contact Uber support for that. We had to walk 10 minutes to a train station and get the train to the hospital.
I contacted Uber, finally getting past their terrible AI UI to at least type in a complaint. Just received a response from Uber saying I am not eligible for a fare adjustment. Surely if a driver takes you nowhere near your destination, straight up refusing to take you and then kicks you out to get public transport you would think that entitles me to at least a partial refund. I was charged €37.23 for essentially circling the block.
Just wanted to ask other peoples opinions on if I’m eligible for a fare adjustment and how to go about getting one cause Uber Help is hopeless. Is there some way I can get in contact with a real human? I don’t have a phone number as I’m travelling and only have an eSIM but I am willing to get a physical sim to make phone calls if I need to.

Update: I got my mother who is a certified Karen to write a strongly worded message in the support chat and they gave me a full refund!
