Im not an owner yet. I wanted to figure out if the RAV4 regular ie Gasoline can do better than my existing 18MPG 7-seater in city limits ie daily commuter.

Booked a rental got a 2024 Gasoline RAV4 with 37k. I drove it in regular commute and observed around 25-26 MPG (0-ed after full tank and getting an understanding of the vehicle then another 0-ed city miles and filled up the tank and tested it out)

Does it mean I need to consider the hybrid version to get more than 35MPG or higher? I do like that I can comfortably fit - decent experience of about a week of driving. Love the upgraded features - lane assist, car play etc. also need the MPG to be greater than 36MPG for making the move.
