A Guy Asked if I Was Trans Because I Seemed Sweet

Can you believe this? Literally, just now, a guy on a gay dating app recently asked me if I was a trans man because I came across as “sweet,” compassionate, emotionally available, nurturing, etc. I mean, I've been told I look like my mom, but come on!

I've been laughing now for like 10 minutes 😭

His reasoning was basically: “you seem soft and sweet” therefore: “possibly not cis male” 💀

I guess some guys have decided that being a man means sexually available but psychologically unavailable.

So when a guy comes across warm or nurturing people are like:
hmmm. suspicious. cannot compute.

Meanwhile I’m literally just out here trying to flirt and ask people if they drank water today.😭

But honestly I do think it says something deeper. A lot of people are so unused to tenderness from a man that when they experience basic warmth, it is unfamiliar energy. Which is kinda sad when you think about it.
