I applied for the resumption of my SS retirement benefits 5 months ago (via phone because resumption application was not available on-line (so much for "digital first"). After not receiving anything for 3 months, I called to check the status and was told I needed an in-person appointment. At the appointment I was required to write and sign a statement that wanted benefits from the date of my 70th birthday. At that time they said I should receive my retirement benefits the following week. Around a month later I was told via phone I should receive benefits in 3-5 days. That has not happened. Are there other's out there with similar problems or can anyone recommend additional steps I might take to obtain my benefits?
