15 year old daughter
I have a 15 year old daughter with ADHD. She is on meds and sees a CBT. She is testing my limits. She wants to hang out with friends afterschool . I allow her to . School lets out by 2:45, I understand the weather is getting nicer, I tell her I will pick her up by 3:45(her n her friends will be at the local dunkin or pizza place). She’ll keep saying I want to stay till my friends go home( which could be 4pm or 4:30). She’ll say she wants to walk her friends home too . I have spoken to her.
She responds back by saying “ it’s important to me to hang out with my friends”. I tell her I agree with her but there’s a time limit and I’ll pick her up by 3:45. I don’t know if it’s her ADHD that she’s not understanding . Or I’m missing something in parenting 101 here. I’ll tell her she’s going past her time limit afterschool she’ll say what’s the problem? I came home.
Should I provide a consequence such as you’ll get reduced screen time?
