Hi everyone,

I built a Chrome extension called Vocabinet and would appreciate feedback from other Chrome extension users/builders.

It is designed for people who read foreign-language content online and want a faster way to translate words or phrases without switching tabs.

Main features:

• Highlight text on a webpage and translate it
• Use a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Y
• Optional double-click quick translate
• Uses Chrome’s built-in Translator API
• Save useful words or phrases to a local vocabulary list
• Search saved vocabulary later
• Export saved vocabulary as CSV
• No account required for the core workflow

A few notes:

• Requires desktop Chrome 138+
• Does not work on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store
• Some language pairs depend on what Chrome supports on your device
• Chrome may need to download a local language pack the first time

I’d especially like feedback on:

• Whether the selected-text workflow feels clear
• Whether double-click translate is useful or annoying
• Whether the permission set looks reasonable
• What would make the vocabulary feature more useful
