My baby is nearly 5 months and I have started to put him down to sleep and leave the room. He lies content for about 10 minutes then it starts. He spits the dummy out and starts to cry. So I go in, replace the dummy and quickly walk out. Then a minute later he does the same thing. This can go on for 30 minutes. If I try to let him FIO/ CIO he will just cry until I go in and replace the dummy. Should I be handling this a different way?

I know he will eventually learn to put the dummy in himself and we are practicing this during the day, although I’m wondering if this is the right (or only) approach until he learns this.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
