I'm relatively new to this group, and I appreciate how attentive and sincere the responses have been to my previous posts.

The headline is the main focus; however, I am also curious about your opinions on honor killings. As a diaspora Muslim living in the U.S., I find the concept of honor killings to be abhorrent for the same reasons that I would oppose killing someone for leaving Islam.

If I am to be considered a bad Muslim, or even a non-muslim, for having these opinions, I would like to know why.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

The example I have in mind when posing this question is the attacks on the people associated with Charlie Hebdo.

I do not think it's appropriate to physically assault a person, regardless of what he/she says about any religion.

That said, I understand that there is a very reasonable expectation that one will be physically assaulted if they insult someone's religion on their own land. However, I don't see how attacking people in a secular society like France because they insult Islam can be justified.
