Drain line not installed correctly by Best Buy, how do I fix this myself?
My parents bought a dryer from Best Buy about a year ago, they handled the installation. Just had a warranty tech come out and their diagnosis is that the drain line was never installed correctly, that’s what’s causing the issue. We have been stonewalled by LG’s warranty department for months till they finally sent someone.
Before I go back and forth with Best Buy, I want to understand what’s actually involved in fixing this. After my initial call with Best Buy, they quoted $130 just to send someone since it’s outside of their workmanship guarantee window. How hard is it to correct a drain line installation on a dryer? Is this something I can do myself or do I need someone out?
The LG tech said the duct tape seal around the dryer line (smaller tube) is why it doesn’t have enough pressure to send the water to the drain. Also how the heck can best buy use duck tape and call it a professional installation.
