Transfer out of Dartmouth?
Before anyone asks, this is not a shitpost.
Also, I admit that this post will likely come off as spoiled and ungrateful.
Here’s the deal:
I don’t really want to go to this school anymore.
I’m sick of Hanover.
Social scene is not for me.
The student body here feels more like they are a part of a country club than a renowned intellectual institution.
Alcoholism is rampant.
There’s nothing to do here (I’m not really an outdoors person).
Nepo kids everywhere and diversity is trash.
Hazing and sexual abuse problems on campus (definitely worse than peer institutions).
Research is way less prevalent here than at Dartmouth’s peer institutions. There are schools like Harvard and Princeton that are renowned institutions because they are literally changing the world from their campuses through groundbreaking research, startups, discoveries, and tech innovations. At Dartmouth, almost none of this happens. Worst of all, basically all of the students here have no aspirations of changing the world; they all just sellout to the Bermuda Triangle of talent.
Finally… no one takes this school seriously, aka Dartmouth would likely be irrelevant if it wasn’t an “ivy.”
Here’s the question: As a Dartmouth student, do I have ANY chance of either transferring to HYPSM, Brown, or Penn? Is there anything I can do to boost my chances? ANY backdoors to these institutions?
Just lmk if I virtually have no chance.
Again, I know I come off as extremely pompous in this post and for that, I would like to apologize.
