2025 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid Real World MPGs
I am curious about what everyone's MPGs are for their hybrid sonatas. I have been driving this car for over a year, and this is my first car ever. I wanted a hybrid because the MPG was really appealing to me, and I wanted to save on gas a bit. Hyundai advertises 44 city, 51 highway, and 47 combined for this car. Now that I have passed the break-in period, I am still averaging roughly 42-43 MPGs. I noticed when I first got the car, the range was reading 600+ miles, but the actual range was actually much less, obviously because a break-in period was required. I was hoping after the break-in period, it would show 600+ miles of range when I fill up but every full tank of gas shows me 560-ish miles of range. I understand that driving habits and different conditions can affect the MPGs.
Some things to note:
- I live in a sunny state
- Not heavy on the gas
- I do a mix of short trips (< 5 min) and long trips (> 15 min)
- I take the freeway when I can
- I always drive in eco mode
- I always get Costco gas
The image below is my best AVG MPG for my car when I was doing a lot of long trips. I drove it for like 70 more miles, and the MPG dropped from 45.4 to 43-ish again.
