Why do some people consider being sexually experienced an achievement or something to be proud of?

Is being sexually experienced really something to be proud of?

There's this colleague at work who's actually a nice person, and we roast each other and have fun pretty often but whenever she runs out of comebacks, she pulls out the same one pehle apna account toh khol le. Basically, she's joking about me being a virgin.

I usually laugh it off because it's all fun and games between us, but recently I actually started wondering!! why is losing your virginity something to be proud of?

It's not just about her. I've seen plenty of people talk about losing their virginity or having a certain body count like it's some kind of achievement, and that's what made me think about it more.

Maybe I'm just looking at it differently, but I've never really understood why someone's sexual experience should be treated like some achievement or a milestone you need to hit before a certain age.

I'm 27, still building my career, working night shifts, pretty introverted, don't socialise much and have a small circle. I've never been in a relationship either and honestly, I'm okay with taking things at my own pace.

What does cross my mind sometimes is building a career, creating the life I want, staying healthy, travelling, and just trying to live as stress-free as I can.

These are the things that are bigger concerns to me.

Yeah, of course, I do wonder sometimes if I'll ever meet someone who understands that I'm still building my life, someone who won't judge me just because I’m still figuring things out, and who can actually support me while I work towards where I want to be.

So I don't know..... Why is losing your virginity or having a higher body count considered some kind of achievement or a proud moment? What exactly are we supposed to be proud of there?

TL;DR - My colleague keeps hitting me with the “account toh khol le” jokes because I’m 27 and still a virgin, but seriously, why do people treat virginity or body count like some kind of achievement?

How's your life going guys?

Im 27M, pretty introverted and I work night shifts, so I havent really had much of a social life or many opportunities to meet people.

I am also pretty behind when it comes to relationships and dating, and I havent really experienced that part of life yet.

Ive been thinking about this a lot lately and finally decided to make a post about it.

Im not posting this for sympathy. I am just genuinely curious about people who might be in a similar place in life.

What are you guys doing these days? What does your life look like? Work, hobbies, friends, family, personal goals whatever?

Do you feel like you're where you thought you'd be at this age or are you still figuring out things too?

Sometimes it feels like everyone else is moving through life on a completely different timeline, so it would be nice to hear some different perspective.

Im not always confident enough to talk to people face to face but I feel like I might be able to open up a little more here. So if you relate to any of this I'd genuinely love to hear your perspective :)

So yeahh.....Hows life going for you guys?
