On Fonend and the war.
The not-so-recent situation in Alexandria has sparked a lot of controversy, how could it not? This is a war we are talking about, this is innocent civilians being slaughtered, homes being destroyed, and the terrific slaughter at Aurum makes it a topic that cannot be ignored, I have decided to make a small little essay about it.
Firstly, I will address the RSWP's stance on it.
I believe the RSWP's stance to be mostly correct, their critical support of the DoR is definitively a good choice, it allows to point to the contradictions of the DoR, while quietly building up revolutionary energy without being persecuted, and prepare a revolution, it is also the most expected choice from a left-wing parliamentary party, however, as there is not much more that one of the two big parties in parliament can do, and any further actions may result in the reactionary administration repressing this party.
I will now expand my stance on this issue.
While, it is true, the defeat of one's government is more than desirable, one has to look at why defeat is desirable, a struggle leaves a state spent, resources are wasted in it, damage is dealt, industries crippled, armed forces are either busy resisting or insufficient to fundamentally challenge a revolution, this then shows that, just like in Narovia (Using them as the equivalent to the USSR/Imperial Russia), one needs a decisive defeat of the government, its hold to be greatly diminished over every aspect of life and its resources fully drained, this also builds up a huge anti-government energy and discontent, but if the defeat was too swift, the people would not have time to get too mad, the armed forces, even if smashed, could easily regroup, not a significant amount of resources would have been wasted, and at best, the state would have some crippling reparations that would allow for a revolution, but at worst, the state would become a puppet of a foreign state, and now the proletariat has to defeat two states at once rather than one.
Therefore, it can be seen that it is actually not a defeat that is desirable, but a struggle, we must encourage the state to struggle on, to waste more and more resources on a useless war, this can be used to extract political and economic concessions in strikes, this will help educate the proletariat for an actual revolution, of which speaking of, a revolution must be prepared while the war is happening, but should not be launched at this stage, as this would mean fighting against both the DoR and all its provinces and Fonend, which would assure any revolution's demise, and would set us back for centuries on our goals, rather the only way is to wait, wait till the end of the war, when the state is fully spent and we are sure that we won't have to fight against two bourgeois enemies at once.
Not only that, but we must allow the government some room to fight, as if not, they will surely lose, and we would still have to fight Fonend when taking back Wuhmia, St. Stephen and Aurum, thus we must not hinder the DoR too much, however, we also can absolutely not directly aid the DoR, such a thing would tarnish everything, it would make us a joke internationally, the international left made into another force for the state's bourgeois goals, and would discredit our cause, instead, we must turn our attention to the fonendian workers, a revolution can, and should happen in Fonend, and the DoR's left should aid it, this would certainly drive back the imperialist republic while creating a useful ally when we have to achieve our own revolution, and this is quite simple, the Fonendian workers and their lands are not as threatened, nor as defended, while in the DoR each province has its own military, it is most likely that Fonend's forces are mostly at the front, therefore a revolution could shatter their aggression and even aid in our own revolution, while a revolution in the DoR would be met with provincial resistance, then federal resistance and finally fonendian resistance if we are ever to reclaim the lost cities, in the first case, we will have liberated more land and gained allies, in the second, we would have a much harder revolution and even if we win, nothing but enemies.
Lastly, I want to address the question of morality, and this is indeed an important question, for even if one does not believe in such things as morality, it is impossible to deny the effect that it has on people, where violence, crime, and bloodshed will drive people away from a movement, it is important to understand that while yes, a prolonged struggle will mean more deaths, both revolutions in Fonend and the DoR would end this bloodshed much more cleanly than any possible peace deal with airs of revanchism would, the people dying right now are an undeniable and inexcusable tragedy, it however, is fault of the bourgeoisie, and we are to end such massacres, one would then claim that we should do it sooner, but we then come back to the previous issues, we would forsake more people, liberate less land, and would make it much harder for a revolution to succeed.
We then must use these struggles to point at the bourgeoisie, organize a revolution, and build up anti-government sentiment, then wait until the government is utterly spent and exploit that sentiment to achieve a victorious revolution, all while having supported and organized a revolution in Fonend.
