In 2006, Versace Atelier really decided to put a pair of bustles on the back of a gown, instead of the usual single bustle, as if they wanted to accentuate each butt cheek individually. Then they decided to add another pair of bustles to the front of the dress. While I understand the need for symmetry, the result was a dress that looks like it has a butt in the front.
It's a front-butt dress.
Being unflattering and illogical, it seems custom made for the woman who likes wearing two pairs of pants at once.
I also hate the colors and the halter straps coming directly from her boobs.
Hi all, I'm currently staying in a hostel while my apartment situation gets straightened out. There's a young woman here who needs some kind of mental health intervention. She has a sweet disposition but her behavior is not pro-social and she will not modify her behavior no matter how many times she is asked.
She keeps all of her food in the bed with her, like pantry items and leftover pizza. Management has talked to her several times and has been way too lenient with her. She plays videos and music at full volume with no earphones in the middle of the night. Sometimes she starts talking to herself in the middle of the night. I have talked to her very sternly about this noise, and the most she will do is turn the volume way down, but I can still hear it so it's a problem for me and sometimes for others (some people can sleep through it.) I have told management about this. She has poor hygiene and creates smells in the room, and drips menstrual blood on the floor without cleaning it up.
Even stranger to me though, is the way she expects others to take care of her needs. The first time she dripped blood on the bathroom floor, I don't think anyone knew whose it was. We just avoided it and waited for the cleaning lady. She said to me, "Cat, there's blood on the bathroom floor" like I was her mother and it was my job to deal with it. I told her she was welcome to use the Windex I kept in my chubby hole to clean it if she wanted (my boundaries are too good to fall for that nonsense). She also tries to get little sums of money from people. Rather than grifting or manipulating, she seems genuinely developmentally delayed or otherwise impaired mentally. I mean there could be some manipulation or grift going on, but my point is that she's not totally faking her helplessness.
She has no job and I assume she's getting money wired to her from family. She sleeps or plays on her phone all day. Her family lives somewhere abroad and I know they will welcome her back. From hearing her calls, they sound South Asian but she looks Persian to me.
This afternoon they finally kicked her out of the hostel. Tonight is her last night.
This is completely appropriate, and from a business perspective it should have happened weeks ago. However I still feel bad for her and wish I could help her. Today there was another blood episode and this time it was clear it came from her, but she would not respond coherently to questions. First she said the blood was from her uterus. Then she changed it to her stomach, then her lungs. "Are you throwing up blood?" No. "are you coughing up blood?" No. "Do you have an open wound? No. "So where is the blood coming from?" "From between my legs." So you're on your period?" No. "So it's mid-cycle spotting?" No.
I'm very tempted to call the number for the Psychiatric Mobile Wellness Response Team, but that is more for psychiatric holds in the hospital. I was told that someone like a social worker comes out and if she refuses to go to the hospital the SW can at least give her some pamphlets with information.
I can't imagine her agreeing to be hospitalized but maybe this would nudge her to get some help or go back to her family. Although I don't know what that situation is like. I asked her why she didn't just go home, and she said they were too far away, and then I gave up on the conversation.
Does anyone have any experience calling this service, or an opinion on what I should do to help?
UPDATE: with two mental health professionals weighing in with the suggestion that I try calling, I did. They came out, and unsurprisingly, she refused to meet with them. They gave me a pamphlet about certain diagnoses qualifying for financial assistance, and I passed it to her, telling her I thought she qualified for one of the diagnoses. This post was written hastily so I may not have adequately conveyed her symptoms but there is definitely a serious diagnosis there. I know her family wants her to come back so hopefully she'll get help or go home or both.
